All things Denver XXVI: From Boonetown to Motown

Re: All things Denver XXVI: From Boonetown to Motown

Anyone coming this way I am thinking of going up to Albany if DU gets placed there. It is a little over a 3 hour drive from where I live.

Thinking about it 78--it will depend on what airfare looks like Sunday. I hate Albany and that former mill town in MA too but a trip to Motown looks out of the question for my schedule right now. So the Regionals it is--hoping for something closer to home.

Regarding Friday. I'd rather draw tUMd over the UNDies. Beating them four of four and the way they are clicking right now makes it a less favorable match up. Let's save that one for Thursday in Motown. Crap that's going to make me have to fly up there. I wish I was a soccer or a football fan right now. :-)

That was one cheap *** hit by Frat boy Sunday night. Shepard is a total disgrace to the WCHA. My brother a UVM fan saw the video and said "that ref should be banned from college hockey and banished to Pee Wee's". He also said "you never hear anyone complain about the refs in HE." nice to know they're professionals somewhere on this planet.

Ruegsegger does not seem to be himself lately on the ice. Maybe he's playing hurt. He just doesn't look as comfortable out there.

If Big Joe played with a burr under his saddle more often, it would be scary.

I'm sure he is hurt but then again he was all last season too. He's always been a streaky player. He has got the ability to dig down deep when we're on the ropes and perform flipping miracles in the corners! That's the guy you want on the ice when it matters. He knows where Rhett is like a bat knows where a bug is.

Bozak, Hanson, and Stalberg with assists tonight in Leafs 4-1 victory over Sens.

Bump and Toronto has got to crawl out of the cellar with all of this young talent not to mention Kessel!!

They may want to stay there to get the #1 pick in the draft.

They traded their pick in the first round to Boston for Kessel.
the Leafs sent the Bruins a first- and second-round pick in the 2010 draft, plus a first-round pick in the 2011 draft. The 21-year-old Kessel, a restricted free agent, signed a five-year, $27 million deal with the Leafs.

Not sure if it has been mentioned yet but I see FSRM has the UMD-und game on tomorrow as well.

Re: All things Denver XXVI: From Boonetown to Motown

Beau Bennett is up to #25 on the ISS Draft List for March. Looks like he will be a 1st Round draft Pick. He's moved up 23 spots in the past two months. If he is a 1st round selection he will become only the 3rd DU player ever selected in the First round.

Bennett's Penticton Vee's clinched their 2nd Round Playoff series over Westside last night.

They now play the #1 ranked Vernon Vipers in the BCHL semi-finals. Bennett has 4 goals & 9 assists in 13 playoff games.

Just butting in again to wish DU luck against NoDak or UMD. I'm thinking UMD, but I also thought MY team would still be playing... :o

Re: All things Denver XXVI: From Boonetown to Motown

If you haven't read Olshansky's Hobey picks, he has the Rock and Chevy as finalists with Chevy in the Hat Trick. We find out tomorrow.

And Moy has DU in Albany for the regionals. Along with the AHA winner (think it is to help attendance), Ferris State, and Cornell.

I'm really glad we are not on the bubble this year. It seems anyone from 8 to 18 has the possibility of getting in or dropping out if everything goes right or wrong, as the case may be. ;)

Yeah, Moy flipped the AHA team to Albany because he figured their fans are more likely to travel there than to Fort Wayne. Putting UAH in Fort Wayne is fine by me.

It's nice being #1 because I haven't had to consult the king of the hockey crystal ball's articles once. I just have to wait for Sunday and not got caught up in all the speculation. DG has some hype and speculation but his is friendly fire so no worries. As long as he isn't predicting that Murrary will start in Albany, I can deal with it. :D

Cornell in Albany would be very tough. Those fans would have a home game. And playing Air force would be tougher than UAH...
