Good find. Elite Prospects now lists O'Reilly as a 20-21 incoming freshman - indicating he was deferred a year so DU could bring in Brink right away. Probably for the best all the way around. Brink and Crone seem ready to contribute immediately. It seems - at least statistically - like another year in the USHL where his production takes a leap forward, would be good for O'Reilly. His scoring stagnated last season...

When I think about the Ritchie Center I think of Magness Arena and hockey, but something I didn't know.
Rising above Magness Arena is the landmark of the Ritchie Center, the golden Williams Tower. The tower houses a 65 bell carillon which can be heard daily during the school year. Initially the interior of the tower was plain/ Now it showcases the history of communication--from cuneiform symbols to the digital age, What amazed me were the methods and intricacies used in depicting the art of mosaics and stone tablets as well as the means necessary to erect and apply the the elements to curves of the tower. As of today, pretty much yes.
The Alaska schools--abandoned by their league and strangled by the Gov's desire for "One UA" and left to bleed after draconian budget cuts.
On the other hand, if the WCHA schools were hoping and willing to travel to Arizona every other year, Huntsville, Alabama should not be a stretch.

I read somewhere that local kid, and likely 1st round pick, Ty Smilanic, had his offer from DU rescinded. Does anyone know why?

No idea, would hate to speculate on a kid's future. He verbally committed when he was 15, a lot of things can change. Seems he's a good prospect though, expected to go pretty high in next year's draft. He's got another year at the NTDP anyway, we'll see what happens after that.
