Just thinking out loud - it occurred to me that DU has struggled with depth this season due to injury. As a result they were forced to bring in a D and an F mid-season. I wonder if they needed scholarship money to convince those players to join mid season and that ate up Middendorf's piece of the pie or facilitated a deferral request?

Adding Guttman late in the process (for 2018) also could have been a major factor...

I would thing getting Guttman would be the prime factor. The 2 late additions both mentioned being closer to home. One is from Arvada the other from LA--compared to Bismarck, ND. , Denver is practically next door.

Last night was one of the most defensive games I’ve seen in a while, totally playoff style hockey. Tonight was one of the sloppiest games, by both teams, that I’ve seen this year. Great to sweep a good Duluth team, a lot of key and clutch saves by tanner tonight, #3 in PWR. That series in St. Clown will be huge.

Shoulder injury about 6 weeks ago. Monty said he would be out for at least 2 months. Did see a picture of him on Twitter wearing a practice jersey!

Tonight was more fun to watch than Friday. Borgstrom didn't score, but was wreaking havoc on Duluth's defense.

Not to nitpick, but goals/assists in 5x5 overtime are included in all stats. 3x3 goals/assists and shootout goals do not count...same with goals/assists scored in exhibition games.

I agree and did not include the 3 on 3 goal. But I just checked IHDB and Collegehockeystats.net and they both show Terry with 99 points so I must have missed one somewhere.

I do think it is odd that the stats show the shootout players, but not who scored 3 x 3.

The article says that Matt Thomas used to be an AC at Denver. I never heard of him
