I don’t know what his official record is, just that based on current base salaries and last year’s wins, he seems to be well worth his contract.

This is also my guess at how things shake out. MTU, BGSU, and MSU in the top tier. UAF, BSU, NMU and FSU in the middle mix, with UAF hopefully holding on for home ice. UAH, UAA, and LSSU fighting for the last playoff spot.

Goaltending for any team often determines success, but maybe even more so for UAF this year. Goaltending “play” the last couple of years has been very inconsistent and barely adequate. Maybe the weakest in the WCHA. I think we have guys that can get it done, but they just need to prove it. We have talent and speed. If we have good consistent goaltending we’ll have a good year.

Jones and Keeney can play, it's just a matter of consistency (especially for Jones). Keeney was solid his freshman year and hasn't played much since...would be nice for him to go out strong his senior year.

good work, except that BG doesn't have 13 from the BCHL. Where are you getting feeder systems info?
my count is USHL 11; BCHL 3; NAHL 4; OJHL 4; CCHL 4; CEGEP 1. Total = 27.

My comment was not geared towards you, but the UA_ fans that believe winning the Governor's Cup is the end all, be all. That the coaches have a huge bonus for winning it, and blah blah blah.

Actually, Matt Thomas' salary was $180,000 last season, $200,000 started this July 1st. ;)

It is not the end all, be all. Success in the conference and on the national stage is much more important at the time. Bonuses seem to be more of an Anchorage thing.

But it’s a heated rivalry series and is a big deal to the fan bases unless one fan hasn’t won it in six years. You obsession with how unimportant it is, is very telling. Are you trying to convince the fan bases or yourself.

When you guys win the Cup three times in a row, and you will*, the rivalry series will once again generate a little heated enthusiasm from your fan base. If beating us 22 straight games back in 1979-82 is still the rallying cry for your fan base, I’m sure that winning a Cup battle one or two times will do it wonders.

*But that string won't start this year :)

You're kidding yourself if you don't think UAA would/will fall all over itself with joy whenever you win it again. There's a lot of your fans, including on this board, who have massive amounts of sand in their cracks whenever they lose to little 'ol Fairbanks and thus feel the need to trot out all time records dating back to when we would lose to downtown bar teams.

Whatever. The record is what it is, accept it. Besides, beating you all in your own barn to knock you out of the Final Five was worth several Gov Cup wins. ;)

What “History according to _airbanks” can we talk about …… according to you……

Don’t even bring up overall wins and losses …..It’s just not reasonable

We don’t gossip about “the cheating years” we did it for years, but only got caught once.

Butterbeans “official record” is not open for dialogue period. We can’t subtract the mucky and add the muck.

We will pick and choose what history is creditable of discussion. Thank you……

But on the lighter side………..

Go to the volleyball game Tuesday and see if _airbanks will finally win a game or if the UAA

Team will remain invincible.

You have a very good volleyball team, and if I were a Seawolve Hockey fan I'd brag about the volleyball team too. :)

You knuckleheads spent $120 million of state dollars on a new sports palace, you **** well better have a good volleyball team. I loved Hackett's whining on KTVA about doing less with more...welcome to the club, bub. Better see if Poison can come up to help pay the bills, because that underwater treadmill isn't producing much revenue.

Ahhh, but UA_ DIDN'T send UAA home early ... they had nothing more to do with it than the other teams who took points away from UAA during the regular season. Good try though. ;)
