Missed opportunities. This team has a lot of potential but at times (way too often) they look lifeless, like deers in the headlights. Is it a matter of believing they can win? They've proven they can compete with anyone but just don't seem to believe in their ability to win. Wish they'd start playing every game thinking/knowing they are going to win. May create a self fulfilling prophecy. Captains- pick up the team and get the win tonight. Splits on the road are a good thing.
How many fans do we have on the USCHO site? Seems like very few posting. How about everyone following this string adds a post so we see what we have here for support.

The first period was rough.
The one goal they let up was a beautiful set up on the PP by RIT, they fixed the problem for the rest of the game, and even killed a 5-3.
The second period was better, especially late. But like you said, they looked lost/demotivated at times in the 3rd. Then they score a goal late, and it's too late and the other team buckles down.
The Canisius series was a real disappointment. More frustrating than anything. Shoulda Coulda Wouldas
Like you said, they didn't take advantage of their chances. Their goal scorers are simply not scoring goals like they could be. The Mele, Penny Puskar line could be an insanely awesome 3rd line that would keep the other team on their toes, but like the 1st Canisius game, they were double shifted at the end, cause they were the only line doing anything that game. I would like to see Puskar get a little more creative at times.
Either Sacred Heart truly sucks, or this team has lost something, because they were finding all the passes and moves in that game, and now, they do look clueless at times. Well, not clueless, but passes are just not there at times, like players are not on the same page. When you throw a puck across the crease and towards the net, you want to throw it where your player can get a stick on it and deflect the puck, hopefully towards the goal. Far too many passes are errant. They're also missing the net far too much. I think over the break, they need to have some shooting contests. Put those foam circles in the corners and see who can hit the most.

OK coaches...We are all for individual bag skates for errant passes and shots missing the net.

end of 2 in Rochester. tied 1-1. Thou it sounds like Hoshaw took a really bad penalty at the end of the period. Announcer said he just kept on hitting the RIT player. Hope it doesn't bite us. Huge period coming up!!!

Hoshaw was lucky he only got a 2 minute one for that. You guys are looking pretty good though, lots of hustle. I just jumped on the broadcast so not sure how the 1st and most of the 2nd went.

Its called lack of coaching or one way coaching, there are some talented platers on this team. But there are also players that keep making the same mistakes and its ok, they. Coaches have no clue, they play favorites and that doesnt work, maybe that kills motivation.

Not sure that is the problem. Te biggest question about coaching is recruiting. Why wait until everyone else has selected to go after your picks. If this team wants to move ahead, they need to go after some top notch players to compliment what they have. Freshman class is fairly good, but AIC never has that one stand out player that can make the difference.

I think momentum swung pretty hard with the 2nd goal. It was in the first minute of the period and gave us a lead and really brought the crowd to life. I couldn't point to anything specific that led to the 3rd and 4th goals, but it was pretty clear that RIT took the foot off after that point and started taking bad penalties (seemingly a trademark of our 3rd periods this year) which allowed AIC to almost climb back into the game if not for Madolora and the defense stepping up after AIC scored their second.

Air Force seemed to have a weak goalie, but when they creamed AIC so bad, who needs an above average goalie.

OK AIC, Here is some scouting of RPI.
Do not take penalties. They are decent on the PP if you let them pass it cross ice like they like to do.
You can beat them on the boards like you did to Michigan Tech.

Well, the scouting really didn't work.
The first two periods were nightmarish. They bent in the first period and didn't allow a lot of quality shots, but the 2nd period was horrendous. Meisner held them in as best he could.
Third period was great. They had jump, they attacked. This is the team we need to see more of.
Good to see the 4th line play a little extended. They could have went for a change, but they stayed on the ice because they had a chance at a scoring play. I think down 2-0 you need to take a chance.
i liked the play at 7:30 left in the 3rd. They sent two guys down low(on the 27-28-29 line) and had the 3rd on the boards where the puck was sent. If they start to practice this play, it could lead to some good things. ie, if a guy from behind the net comes out front, you might be able to get him the puck from off the boards, we we intercept it.
