Adrian Chapter IV: A Legacy of Firsts from the Class of 2011…..

Re: Adrian Chapter IV: A Legacy of Firsts from the Class of 2011…..

It's a near certainty that I will not be able to attend Adrian's NCAA tournament run, however long it is. In all likelyhood, I just saw this team play for the final time. Gentlemen, it was a pleasure watching you play for the last four years. Thank you very much.

You really did pick the wrong career to be a college hockey bum with Hammer. Just saying.

Calling all Adrain Fans…Will Elmira fans have any problem with getting ticket on Saturday? I see Arrington Ice Arena only holds 500?

I know you guys have never hosted a NCAA tournament game but what is attendance for say the MCHA championship game? Do you normally sell out?

As I advised in another thread, according to the Almighty Manual, the visiting school is guaranteed 200 tickets. (or 15% in larger arenas)

Is it like Bowl games - if you don't sell them you have to buy them :D?

An NCAA tournament game at Arrington.

Congratulations !

There are 500 seats, but there is also ample standing room around the rink as there is seating only on one side. It will probably be sold out as it seemed packed out for the Harris Cup Final.

We typically have 900-1000 people at every game. This past weekend was no different. I think there are about 700 seats and 200-300 standing room tickets. They have reserved the entire Section "A" for the Elmira fans (which are the best seats in the arena). Never say that BullDog fans aren't good hosts. :)

Re: Adrian Chapter IV: A Legacy of Firsts from the Class of 2011…..

Yeah, the attendance was over 900 for both Adrian games this weekend. This one might crack the Arrington record. Matter of fact, I'd be very disappointed if it didn't.

Wow. What a surprise today. I figured we'd be getting on a bus and heading to Elmira, not the other way around. I was saying goodbye to a lot of people yesterday at the arena and elsewhere, and taking a long look around as I left, figuring that was it. Shows what I know.

You were not alone in your surprise.

Hell, Adrian is going to have to get to work on spiffying up the place, get all of those downed limbs from that ice storm in a wood chipper pronto. Its not everyday a program hosts its first NCAA tournement event.

Does anyone have any pictures of Arrington Ice Arena?

Just curios what it looks like, maybe over the past weekend with a full crowd?

Congrats to the Bulldogs, especially the Senior Class. It's been a good 4-year run. Hopefully the run continues for 3 more games. Great effort by the players, coaches, fans, and the college administration to achieve such great success with a new program.

Although I'm a "new" member to this forum, I have been following it for the past few years. Seems to be a great community of knowledgeable and insightful posters here!

Go Bulldogs!

Less than 200 SRO tickets left right now. And I saw a few people going up to the arena to get tickets while it was locked up while Elmira was practicing, so expect them to go fast.

Re: Adrian Chapter IV: A Legacy of Firsts from the Class of 2011…..

In the past I've spoken of a rivaly or a loss to avenge. There are no such games ahead of us.

I've also talked about the magnitude of the next game. This is the NCAA quarterfinals. You know what is at stake.

We've waited for this. An NCAA home game, in front of (mostly) our fans, along with all the advantages of such a home game. We've been in the NCAA's, just last year. This is not a new experience. Let's play like we're capable, boys, and leave nothing back.

See you tomorrow.

Well said! Let's go Bulldogs! Leave it all on the ice and keep this run going!

The first one is always the best. My first NCAA series (UWSP @ SNC in 1998) is what got me hooked. It happens once. Games like this bring out the most passionate of fans. Not only did Elmira quickly sell out its tickets, but you know the few hundred they are bringing are those who really care. Having two sets of fans making deafening racket all at the same time doesn't happen much at this level. It's going to be better than you're expecting.

Savor it. You never know how long you might have to wait for it to happen again...
