Abortion: Why Not Thoughts and Prayers?

Re: Abortion: Why Not Thoughts and Prayers?

Why would anybody ever buy life insurance for a baby? Life insurance replaces income if you die. The f-ck income does the baby provide?

Edit: oh, I get it. It's to fight the Dumbf-ckistan police state that's claiming your fetus is a person and a miscarriage is a murder.

Carry on.

It's so if your child dies you have money for the funeral, burial plot, casket, etc. The fetus thing is IMHO a little strange. It pays out if you have a miscarriage or a stillbirth? Isn't that a little like insurance that pays out if I get cancer?

Re: Abortion: Why Not Thoughts and Prayers?

regardless of personal opinions, I feel, as a woman, that's it's no one right to interfere. between a women man and doctor.

funny too, 10,20,30 years ago I felt abortion was a genie that had been let out of the bottle and couldn't be put back in again.
people would not stand for it. it was law and made legal by the Supreme Court. it would be like putting prohibition back in force, or reversing the Civil Rights Act. shows how short sighted I was. and perhaps the concept of history as a march toward greater civilization and freedom isn't necessarily so.

No. The fetus died, and was a living being. There is an investigation for murder. Thus, their should be the ability to buy life insurance.

But if you are the beneficiary and you murder, you don’t collect.

So how again is this relevant?

The stupid part about Indiana's laws are that they abortion clinics to bury or cremate the fetus. So think of it not as life insurance but an Indiana rider on your medical insurance.

Re: Abortion: Why Not Thoughts and Prayers?

And pretty sure there is no funeral for a fetus. Think it’s just hosed into a drain.

Re: Abortion: Why Not Thoughts and Prayers?

Ah, no. Miscarriage can be brought up on charges as a faux abortion. Pay attention.

Yes, and if you're cleared and have life insurance for the fetus you would collect.

I am paying attention. Others like you are having a hard time with the concept.

Re: Abortion: Why Not Thoughts and Prayers?

mookie I think you're being intentionally obtuse. I'm probably not the first person to consider this argument, but I think I was the first one to advance it here. Life insurance for kids in many forms is not a new idea.

I'm not arguing for or against it, but if Conservatives insist on declaring a fetus a human being (nay child) as early as 6 weeks after conception than they should have to reconcile with insurers that this child can be insured the same way a child is now.

An intentional miscarriage (not difficult to prove if you've studied up on it) would be the same as murder and negate the policy.

The burial services for fetal miscarriages are very strange, but they fall under the general category of "things delusional people believe that for once aren't hurting anybody." They are essentially a declaration of religious faith and part of the grieving process for people who are really far gone on their supernatural trip.

Somebody, somewhere is making money on it. Holy Mother Church gets to promote its ideological and political message. And the people being raked over the emotional coals are quite literally asking for it. Probably unhealthy and easily exploited as a con, but more sad than stupid. Trauma always creates a market.
