AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH! St. Cloud at Michigan Tech, Oct. 30-31

Re: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH! St. Cloud at Michigan Tech, Oct. 30-31

You don't know what I can do to my diesel. I have proprietary engine calibration software and I can tinker with ANYTHING. I have access to cals that will give my truck 1100 lb-ft of torque and 500+hp. I've seen trucks with numbers like that put up 11-12 second quarter times. Call it perks of the job.;)

I would never drive a Mazda or Evo or any other of those kind of cars. If I ever buy a car it would have to be pre 1974, with a few exceptions (ZR1, new Challenger, Camaro Iroc-Z, fox body Mustang with cammed 5.0). Only a V8.

People like you are why WalMart is taking over the world.

You have hax. I still think the horsepower to weight ratio works in my favor though.

I agree with not driving jap crap, and only a V8. In the words of Tim the tool man Taylor "More Power!"

It all depends on what you're doing to that 302. What are your plans?
I don't drive a Cavalier...I drive a '96 Honda Civic...:p
Thats not an improvement:p
Only because its closer.
They're both close, takes about the same amount of time to get to either one.
rice burners = lame

Just go to www.michigantechhuskies.com and click on Streaming Video on the right. Not sure how much it costs anymore.

It's $11.95 for one month, so he'd end up getting both games for ~$6.00. Slightly cheaper than $7/game for a B2 feed, though the quality isn't quite as good. Tech's cameras aren't particularly crisp, though you can easily get the gist of the action and replays of goals seem to be pretty clear. The audio (local radio feed) and video sync up very well.

I alternate between a 1989 Jeep Wrangler with the 4.2L I6 and a 5-speed manual with 270,000 miles and a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500HD with a Cummins ISB6.7 and 6-speed manual with 9,000 miles.
2001 Acura 3.2 TL with 118,000 miles. Transmission only has about 6,000 miles on it though.
Don't you lose towing capacity by going with a manual over an automatic?

Oh, and I drive a 2000 Nissan Altima GXE. It's a manual with 127,000 miles. It's one of those rice burners that was built in Tennessee. I never knew they had so many rice paddies in Tennessee.

The bf drives a '06 Mazda 3 (not as pretty) and races a Mazda MX5.
Did you call it an MX5 in hopes that the guys here wouldn't immediately know he's racing a Miata?

I hate to tell you this, but...you know how I know he's gay?
You two have done it a very uncomfortable place, like the back of a Volkswagen?

Theoretically a manual and an automatic with the same engine will have the same towing capacity, since torque and power are the same. Then you get into gear ratios, which if both have the same ratios/amount of gears, they are also exactly the same. The only thing I could think of that might make a manual have a lower towing capacity than an auto is simply manufacturers rating them lower.

Occasionally you'll see trucks with manuals are only offered with a lower power rating, this is because they are de-rated because manuals put the power to the ground better than an auto. Since autos have a torque converter they lag under acceleration while under load, meaning that if you have a huge load on, you can put the pedal to the floor, the engine will rev high, but you will still accelerate slow. Manuals on the other hand will take off as fast as the engine will allow it, if you put the pedal to the floor in the same situation the manual truck will accelerate at the same rate as the engine speed (unless you ride the clutch...).

Overall, I would much rather have a manual for towing, especially when they come with the same power rating as the auto.
