9th annual USCHO Fantasy Baseball League

Re: 9th annual USCHO Fantasy Baseball League

Barring any early morning stat corrections, the championship is set! It was two very close matchups in the semifinals, and came down to the Sunday games.

Creampuffs makes their 2nd consecutive trip to the championship, having finished 2nd last season.

3rd Place
#4 The Green Dolphins vs #6 Rebound Greinke!

5th Place
#5 Tenacious U-M-D 2011 vs #3 Fargin Iceholes

boy, my offense was horrible last week. I sat Brandon Morrow yesterday (because he had been AWFUL for the last month), and using him would've tied us 8-8, since he decided to pitch 8 shutout innings against the Yankees.

To make it worse for you:

In the event that a playoff game ends in a tie, the deadlock is broken using the following system:

1.Winning percentage against this opponent during the regular season. The winning percentage is based on individual stat category wins and losses, not match up wins and losses.

2.Playoff seed.

I might have won the first TB, but I don't know how to tell exactly.

Re: 9th annual USCHO Fantasy Baseball League

My offense had their worst week of the year. So I had to cheat a little bit by loading up on 3 starting pitchers for Sunday, and win by virtue of # innings pitched. And I don't even feel guilty.

Pick anyone facing the Red Sox pitching. That will improve your offensive numbers.

Re: 9th annual USCHO Fantasy Baseball League

I have given up on FBB. I just don't know the players as well anymore. Three leagues was two too many anyway. :(

Re: 9th annual USCHO Fantasy Baseball League

Well, if not on Thursday it'll be too late for my guys to decide to start HITTING THE FRICKIN BALL. I'm a little disturbed by how much I care about this game. :o

Re: 9th annual USCHO Fantasy Baseball League

Tight scoring in the title game so far.

I now have a huge advantage however in personnel management. geezer has reached max moves for the season (35) and I have 11 left with 4 days to go in the season.

It's all over for me. It was a fun year, but I learned not to pick guys that are going to take September off.

wait, is this a 2 week series? I may not be mathematically eliminated yet.

Re: 9th annual USCHO Fantasy Baseball League

The Detroit Lions came back from 20 points down. Anything can therefore happen.

Re: 9th annual USCHO Fantasy Baseball League

Only 2 days left in the championship. Here is your scoring update.

Championship Final
#1 geezer 7, #7 Creampuffs 8 (8th Inn.)

Re: 9th annual USCHO Fantasy Baseball League

Creampuffs tacked on a run in the 8th inning.

Championship Final
#1 geezer 7, #7 Creampuffs 9 (9th inn.)

The 3rd place game is also being tightly contested.

Re: 9th annual USCHO Fantasy Baseball League

The season has ended. A lot of drama in the MLB last night and a bit of drama in the USCHO Fantasy League.

Neither geezer or Creampuffs had very many position players actually play last night it looks like. But the ones that did play for geezer hit the ball. Leading him to a comback victory 9-7 over Creampuffs.

The Creampuffs are quickly becoming the Atlanta Braves of the 90's. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride. But I promise you, their 1995 will come! :D

In the 3rd place game Rebound Greinke! and The Green Dolphins tied 8-8, but in extra innings (tiebreaker), The Green Dolphins prevailed.

Final Standings

Champion - geezer

2. Creampuffs
3. The Green Dolphins
4. Rebound Greinke!
5. Tenacious U-M-D 2011
6. Fargin' Iceholes
7. it's me
8. Sandwiches

Re: 9th annual USCHO Fantasy Baseball League

My overachievers pulled off a Tampa, thanks to V-Mart and Bonifacio. What an incredible finish in the East.
That's a fun game, I'll have to try it again next year.

Don't forget Parmalee from MN. He hit .355 since coming up.
