Dos. Holliday and Hanrahan.

My team is falling apart. I used to stay at .500 with a pretty good pitching staff despite awful batting. The batting has improved slightly but my pitching has dropped a ton, so I'm averaging about 6-9 now. Maybe the All-star break can energize my guys, because a fantasy team acts like a real team, right?

blind luck will only last so long (last week it was my opponent forgetting to put their starting pitchers in). Now I've got four other batters with day-to-day injuries or worse.

However, despite being in 15th, I'm only about 10 games back of the playoffs.

Rebound Greinke! made some key acquisitions last night (**** not having access at work anymore) and Jemile Weeks and Casey Kotchmann will surely lead us to victory, so suck it. :p If only I didn't have dead weight like Ichiro dragging the team down. :eek:

Four weeks left in the regular season.

Not really sure how many games back I am of the last playoff spot. I'm nine wins back, but have 14 more losses and five less ties.

My schedule plays out like this:
This week- 12th place Miggy's BAC
Next week- 7th place Sandwiches
Week after- 9th place StillTrying
Final week- 2nd place Tenacious UMD

I'm either going to fizzle out this week and have no shot, or crawl my way back into the final playoff spot before getting kicked out in the final week.

EDIT: Just went through the record book and apparently I have the toughest schedule in the league.

Final week of the regular season is upon us. After 21 weeks, 6 of the 8 playoff spots have been secured. Although seeding is up for grabs.

1. geezer - locked into the 1 seed.
2. its me - Could finish anywhere from 2nd to 6th. Realistically will finish 2, 3, or 4.
3. Tenacious U-M-D 2011 - Could finish anywhere from 2nd to 6th.
4. Fargin' Iceholes - Could finish anywhere from 2nd to 7th.
5. The Green Dolphins - Could finish anywhere from 2nd to 7th.
6. Creampuffs - Could finish anywhere from 2nd to 7th.

7. Rebound Greinke! - Likely in the playoffs, as she leads 8th by 11 games. Could finish as high as 4th.
8. Sandwiches - 2 games ahead of 9th, 3 games ahead of both 10th and 11th place.

9. StillTryingNotToSuck
10. Miggy's TigerBAC
11. Circle of Friends

Matchups
6. Creampuffs vs 5. The Green Dolphins - Direct impact on seeding, as they are only 2.5 games apart in the standings.
4. Fargin' Iceholes vs 9. StillTryingNotToSuck - Iceholes Could keep divison rival STNTS out of the playoff picture.
7. Rebound Greinke! vs 10. Miggy's TigerBAC - Rebound would have to lose big to lose their playoff spot. Miggy needs the points.
2. its me vs Fat Mikes Dive Team - FMDT can only hope to lower its me's seeding.
8. Sandwiches vs U Must Drink - Worst team in the league looks to play spoiler and keep Sandwiches out of the postseason.
3. Tenacious U-M-D 2011 vs Inebriated Tigers - Tigers playing for pride? Seeding on the line for UMD.
1. geezer vs 11. Circle of Friends - CoF really needs wins to have any hope of getting the 8th playoff spot. Maybe geezer rests his players?

Since I'm not catching RG, I shold hope that RG knocks MTBAC further out of contention. And I should hope geezer pushes back CoF. So then it comes down to hoping UMD can upset Sandwiches, to the extent that I can do two games better against FI, which is no easy task. And of course I only get one game from James Shields this week so that sucks.

Wow, I was reading back through the thread and realized I still have 15 players from draft day on my roster. :eek:

Either I draft great, or I am too lazy to make adjustments in season. :D

Although I really am only keeping Josh Johnson (DL) in case he comes back for 1 week. I don't want someone else nabbing him and beating me.

We are down to the final four this week.

#1 Geezer eased into the semifinals with a blue collar effort and a 10-6 win over #8 Sandwiches who had been fading down the stretch.
#4 The Green Dolphin eeked out an 8-7 thriller over #5 Tenacious U-M-D 2011.
#6 Rebound Greinke! lit up the scoreboard early and often with a 15-1 thrashing of #3 Fargin' Iceholes.
#7 Creampuffs overcame a bad final week of the season and outlasted #2 its me 9-6.

Midweek and the playoff games are still in doubt (that's good for competitive balance ;) ).

Creampuffs are mashing HR's this week. Nice to see my guys muscle up ('roids) for 7 HR in 3 days. :D

I'm making some panic roster moves, with Ortiz and Tulowitzki and Boesch out with injuries and Jackson getting benched for sucking. Still in it though. And my guys usually don't turn it on until the weekend. I don't know how many times they've flipped the score around on Saturday and Sunday.
