4 Zebras on the ice in the SUNYACS.....

Re: 4 Zebras on the ice in the SUNYACS.....

Thinking back, last year I had more gripes about the linesmen than the actual referee. Bad offsides calls, poor positioning, holding the faceoff too long, and finally the linesman who legitimately called as many penalties as the referee did in one game. Amazing.

Re: 4 Zebras on the ice in the SUNYACS.....

The USA v. Plattsburgh game Saturday night was the first of the year using the four officials set up. Interesting to note, and I don't know if all the games will follow the same, but none of the officiating crew had names on their uniforms. Instead they were all sporting numbers. This will certainly make it harder for us to address them by name when we want to show our appreciation for a job well done. ;)

I wouldn't say too much about the officials @ the USA/Plattsburgh game. One of the linesman was one of the larger individuals I've ever seen.....

Re: 4 Zebras on the ice in the SUNYACS.....

No names, just numbers. Did SUNYAC get "their own" refs for this as well or are they still using ECAC refs?

Norwich vs. Dartmouth had four refs - can't say as it made their calls any better.

Their own refs. They are no longer using the ECAC to assign officials. (Of course, there will still be crossover, as many refs work different leagues.)

Re: 4 Zebras on the ice in the SUNYACS.....

Well, I'm going to do a farewell tour of upstate New York, hellholes like Plattsburgh- Gov. David Patterson on SNL

I hope you are at least smart enough to know that it was someone impersonating David Patterson that made this comment, right???:D

Re: 4 Zebras on the ice in the SUNYACS.....

they did... if you have a question on any other refs let me know... I have the list.... it's nice to have a connection with stripes on his back... haha
I knew that was a red jersey Murphy was wearing under his stripes, was not sure if it had a bird, but now I may b sure of that:eek:

LoudHorns, did they hire Baldwin and/or Petrus (don't know first name)?

Re: 4 Zebras on the ice in the SUNYACS.....

(Semi off topic but as good a place as any to bring this up considering it involves someone very involved with SUNYAC and officiating over the past few decades)

Former Geneseo head coach and former ECAC director of officiating for D3 Paul Duffy was on the bench this weekend (along with current head coach Chris Schultz and assistants Kris Heeres + Al Barton) for the Ice Knights. Not sure of his exact position with the team, but saw him there during the game on Saturday and figured I'd relay along.

Re: 4 Zebras on the ice in the SUNYACS.....

Just a correction for SB in the 'Seo...it was NOT Paul Duffy on the Ice Knights bench. The new volunteer assistant for the Ice Knights is Craig Dahl, retired head coach formerly at St. Cloud State.
