#4 BC vs. #1 Wisconsin - NCAA Semis: BadgerBadgerBadgerBadger... MUSHROOM, MUSHROOM!

Re: #4 BC vs. #1 Wisconsin - NCAA Semis: BadgerBadgerBadgerBadger... MUSHROOM, MUSHR

does anyone have contact info for katie king? Let her know that there's obviously no point in showing up for the game. The other team taking the ice is wearing white and red with a red w, and is flying in from the west, so the game is basically over before it starts.

It'd really save everyone a lot of time and effort.

I think badger fans are a little worried that their dynasty is about to run into molly schaus. Molly schaus is from natick. Doug flutie is from natick. The logic is unassailable. Bc wins by 2.

Schaus to.......Phelan?!?!?!?

Re: #4 BC vs. #1 Wisconsin - NCAA Semis: BadgerBadgerBadgerBadger... MUSHROOM, MUSHR

Games that happened earlier in the regular season are irrelevant. That's not the way we settle things in the U.S. & A. - it's about who's playing their best at the right time. No one denies this! It's a new season now and BC and Wisconsin are 1-0. BC looked good in their game; so did Wisconsin. BC's outburst against Minnesota shows that they have no fear of opponents just because they're flying in from the west.

Finally a rational thought, good job!! You must be a graduate student. Both are good teams, both earned the right to be there, and all that matters is the final score. No one has suggested BC should be scared or can't compete, only that UW is pretty good to. Thanks for setting the record straight, by this time tomorrow we will all know who the better team is.

Re: #4 BC vs. #1 Wisconsin - NCAA Semis: BadgerBadgerBadgerBadger... MUSHROOM, MUSHR

This was with something like a 5-1 penalty advantage to the Gophers.
Or 3-1, unless the Gophers derived some hidden shot advantage from the late hit penalty on Stack after the final horn. Anyway, I don't see that game having much relevance on the semi. What sunk Minnesota wasn't some fast start by BC, but their own early miscues. When a team leads 3-0 after 8-plus minutes, those were their only SOG, and two came nearly gift-wrapped, it is unlikely to be a trend. Come tomorrow, it won't matter, just like the teams' conference affiliation won't matter. It's all about a single game played on March 18.

Hey I never said it was. We didn't play that well in the first period. The game was just out of reach halfway through, regardless of why.

I just genuinely think that BC is the better team. And we will, indeed, know tomorrow.

Yes it will be nice to see the bickering over in 24 hours. This forces any WCHA fan to root for UW just to shut up Tony and all of the other BC loudmouths. I can't believe I am going to say this but go Bucky. UW 4 BC 1

See you next year Tony.

Re: #4 BC vs. #1 Wisconsin - NCAA Semis: BadgerBadgerBadgerBadger... MUSHROOM, MUSHR

Gotta love the BC arrogance, it reminds me of the rodents before they started to suck. Now they are all on suicide watch. Obviously TTT20 has got the old marooon and gold glasses on. I'd like to see some facts that back his confidence up, just besides the fact they beat the rodentettes, which UW has as well.

Well, Tim since you asked, here's a few facts, but ttt20 isn't going to like them. UW 3 top scorers have scored more goals (118) than the entire bc team combined (104). UW as a team have scored 492 pts for the yr, bc has 251 total as a team, that's almost double for UW. Rigsby gaa is 1.77 and save % is .921. Schuas has a 1.41 gaa and a save % of .943 (very impressive). BC's pp is 15.8%, pk is 89%; UW's pp is 26%, pk is 88%. The facts tip the scale heavily in UW's direction. I'm not saying UW will win for sure, BC has a chance, but anyone who blindly says BC's gonna win is out of touch with reality. I guess that's how people think out east, or at least ttt20.

Let's go RED!!!!!!!!!!!

The beauty of settling matters on the ice rather than in some coaches' or writers' poll. :)
Is there any doubt that ARM is the best poster on USCHO? Seriously.

You know, I'm sure BC wouldn't turn down a chance to fatten up on the likes of SCSU four times, but hey, whatever you want to hang your hat on.

Yeah, but you've got to consider the fact that Wisconsin put up these numbers in the notoriously weak WCHA. I don't take Mercyhurst's stats at face value, either.

Gotta love the BC arrogance, it reminds me of the rodents before they started to suck.

Actually reminds me a little of the Wisco men's fans in Detroit the day of the final. "We have the guy that won the Hobey, how could we lose?!11111111" Five goals later, a team from Boston lifted the trophy for the third consecutive year. Good times. Is the dude with all the signs going to be in Erie? I still want the "0" sign as a souvenir. (That guy was awesome, btw)

Let's go RED!

Your enthusiasm for Cornell is appreciated and noted. I'm with you there. Down with BU.

Re: #4 BC vs. #1 Wisconsin - NCAA Semis: BadgerBadgerBadgerBadger... MUSHROOM, MUSHR

The top of the WCHA gets fat on the dregs at the bottom. FOUR teams in the super-awes0mez WCHA had a record below .500 out of conference. That's half the conference. Not too great for what claims to be the "elite" conference in the nation. Compare that to only two teams in Hockey East that had a sub-.500 record out of conference. Hooray, you have a super awesome record with super awesome stats. Congratulations on beating one-win SCSU 27-1 on aggregate this year to pad those numbers. Everyone is super impressed.

Everyone knows that strength of schedule ratings bias conferences that are top heavy. The teams at the top beat up on the awful teams at the bottom and have stellar records, making them look really strong. All the teams at the bottom have terrible records, but look like they have a super-strong strength of schedule because the teams they play have such super records. It's stupid, and until proven otherwise, Wisconsin is nothing more than just another Mercyhurst or Cornell - a good team that beat up on some bad teams that makes them look better than they are.

I think Wisconsin fans may be in for quite a rude awakening tomorrow.

Two. Unless you're counting losses to other WCHA teams in the WCHA tournament, and that does little to demonstrate strength of a conference.

Congratulations on beating one-win SCSU 27-1 on aggregate this year to pad those numbers.
41-5.

Tony, you're way off here.

Yes, you are correct that Hockey East's bottom two were stronger than WCHA's bottom two. No disputing that. That's where the Hockey East advantage ends.

But fact is the WCHA's 2-through-6 were all underrated by the RPI relative to KRACH. Beating teams like St. Cloud that almost never win doesn't boost your KRACH, losing teams that never lose doesn't hurt your KRACH. That's why it makes sense and RPI doesn't. WCHA 1-through-6 was as strong as there ever has been.

Now it is true that a lot of the difference between BC and Minnesota in KRACH is driven by BC's post-Beanpot hangovers against UNH & Maine and the like, and I'd agree that doesn't much in forecasting Friday's result.

So yeah, I think BC has a much better chance of winning than the 15% that KRACH predicts right now, but I see nothing to indicate BC deserves anything close to the favorite.

Dave, i applaud your efforts and stats here. But Reason and logical, fact-based explanations are useless with people like TTT. This kid is ia nightmare homer of epic proportions and I look forward to him crawling into a post-less black hole at 7pm tonight, never to be heard from again.
Lets all just realize both teams are good to get to this point and the game will be interesting. It's the frozen four.

Re: #4 BC vs. #1 Wisconsin - NCAA Semis: BadgerBadgerBadgerBadger... MUSHROOM, MUSHR

Thanks to Blackbart for the viewing links....that's clutch. As for the little ****ing contest, having been a BC "disliker", (hate is such a strong word), yet a strong advocate and very impressed with Molly Schaus, I do agree that Wisco might just have too much depth rolling off the bench for her....and this is from a guy who still holds a grudge against Wisconsin for beating us in the national semi's in 77! But I do have to give Mark J. his due....he definitely is a chip off the old Badger Bob block.....anxiously awaiting a great game this evening!

Re: #4 BC vs. #1 Wisconsin - NCAA Semis: BadgerBadgerBadgerBadger... MUSHROOM, MUSHR

You BC fans are awesome!

Knight with a hatty. Rigsby stays hot. Badgers win.

6-1.

Arrogance? No, they are that good.

Re: #4 BC vs. #1 Wisconsin - NCAA Semis: BadgerBadgerBadgerBadger... MUSHROOM, MUSHR

This thread is embarrassing. I would like to wish all the teams great games tonight. There are so many wonderful players playing in these two games and I am looking forward to a great night of women's hockey.

Is there an official link to watch the games live. If so - would appreciate the link.
