3/26 - Unending Knight or Straight to the Point?

Re: 3/26 - Unending Knight or Straight to the Point?

Attendance looks very light! Anyone have a guess as to numbers?

1,955

Record Low for LP is 2.089 (2013 - UWEC over Oswego)

Record Low for neutral site: 2007 - 1,052 (Superior, WI)

Kalisz for point gets cross-checked straight into the net, just at the goalie is covering the puck and is on top of Kalisz's leg... Kalisz gets helped off the ice, putting pressure on only 1 leg

Sharkey 3-1 Pointers with less than 2 mins to go in 2nd

And that's how the period ends. UWSP still has 0:40 on the PP

3-1 point, scored during a delayed call against SNC for a blatant trip. So Point gets the goal AND a PP

Re: 3/26 - Unending Knight or Straight to the Point?

Lot of empty seats. Why not sell tickets from front to back, and close out the top 5-10 rows. It works well for the Jacksonville Jaguars with their 100k+ stadium. Only time they pull the tarps off the upper deck is for the Georgia-Florida game. Oh, BTW, it 's a fun game to watch so far.

Re: 3/26 - Unending Knight or Straight to the Point?

Very unfortunate he got hurt but that was a clean hit. If you want to point out a missed penalty make it the extremely obvious interference on Point right after the SNC trip but a second before the Pointer wound up for that 3rd goal. Championship level officials simply can't miss something that obvious when staring right at it. I'm sure he feels terrible though. He has to know he missed it and there is no worse feeling in the world as an official when you know it and then something so impactful happens right after. Look for a shaky call against Point early in the 3rd.

Edit - Talking about the play the guy got hurt being clean. The trip was as obvious as the interference. Regretfully only one got called. Some make up work to do for stripes.

4-1 never know, but Point looks a step faster again tonight, perhaps in this case the looooooong OT has taken its toll??

Re: 3/26 - Unending Knight or Straight to the Point?

This game was lost last night in the last 9 minutes when SNC coasted and had to play a bunch more hockey. I feel good about a different outcome had they not done that to themselves although goaltending was certainly disappointing as well anyway.

One cool thing is I get to go back to hating Point like I once used to now that they are now relevant again. So I've got that going for me, which is nice.
