2nd Term Part XI; Year 8, Part 1... Electioneering and Lame Ducking

Re: 2nd Term Part XI; Year 8, Part 1... Electioneering and Lame Ducking

I hope he does, but know he won't.

It would be a lot more valuable to have Snowden come back, face trial, be convicted, and then at some future point have the conviction overturned and a precedent established essentially extending whistleblower protections to those who challenge the state security apparatus when it commits crimes against civil rights and civil liberties.

Snowden appears to be in no rush to trust the American legal system and I don't blame him. But if he wanted he has it in his power to sit in jail and loudly demonstrate that we are not what we pretend to be.

100% agree. If I were him, I would be terrified that I would be whisked away to a black site the second I set foot back on US soil. I would be terrified that I wouldn't get a fair and public trial. I also would have zero faith that any Republican would pardon me and I'd SWAG less than 50% a Democrat would.

It's not the legal system that's the concern. He would be assassinated within 50 feet of steeping off the plane (or boat), let alone even come close to a courthouse.

Obama is so divisive...

Poor guy. Another victim of political correctness run rampant.

A democrat being racist is panned. Never mind they were the ones behind the KKK...

I thought you were an independent? Funny how you always end up defending the righties....

Funny how all those same people are now Republicans.

We had a terrible problem with racism when we had the Dixiecrats. Now we've unloaded them all on you. Enjoy.

When did I ever say I was an independent? I said that I hold water for no one. If someone does something stupid, I'm going to call it out, assuming someone hasn't already beat me to the punch.

Just out of curiosity, assuming Rev. Dr. King were still with us, what would that make him? Because he sure as heck didn't profess fighting racism with racism...

That's rich. No one cites stupid sources like you do or shows a willingness to believe anything without question as long as it fits your narrative.

FlagDUDE1964 was yammering "King is the real racist." The type of person who blames the victims of racism or sexism as if they were the oppressor is never short on material.

FlagDUDE2040 will claim "if Obama were alive today he'd be a conservative." Twas ever thus -- bigotry merely moves the goalposts forever.

Re: 2nd Term Part XI; Year 8, Part 1... Electioneering and Lame Ducking

Are those his best numbers ever?

Best since the first couple weeks.

Our conservative brethren always assured us Obama would finish with numbers below Dubya's.

Dubya was at something like 29.

Though to be fair... Bill Clinton finished at something like 65.

Democrats. Cleaning up Republican disasters since 1932.
