2nd Term Part X - A link to a fore gone conclusion

Re: 2nd Term Part X - A link to a fore gone conclusion

Your statement itself contains the contradiction (not of you, but of Flaggy). I'm left wing. Naziism is a right wing ideology (regardless of what your crazy uncle's chain mail tries to argue). If people want to hurl Godwin-like brickbats at me, they should stick to Dirty Commie! It's wrong, but at least it's on the correct side of the aisle.
I'm not worried if what I post may be seen as contradicting what Flag posts. I was playing off what joe posted, as I quoted him.

The Nazis were Socialists and I think it's fair to say they exhibited characteristics that could be associated with both the left and right. To say most folks on the left or right resemble the Nazis is silly.

Godwin-like brickbats? Is that a Duck Dynasty reference? Godwin is one of my favorite folks on the show. Having him hurled at you would be no small thing!

Which of course isn't what I said, but don't let that stop you.

When people have something to say in response, however inane and ill-thought out around here, the responses typically roll in at a breakneck pace. Not on this one. The lack of response (save one as noted) was quite striking.

When I read the article, I didn't quite know what you intended as the point. The trio of men involved stated that they're establishing a legal contract in order to accommodate their situation. Truth be told, there are heterosexual unmarried couples in the USA who've done the same thing for a long while. These are people who've never married, for one reason or another, and therefore created de facto civil unions for their own purposes. What's happened in Canada isn't anything new, it's just an oddity compared to the slightly more common variation we've seen for a long time.

My point, as my post said, was that this was interesting.

Though I'd note that this isn't a couple at this point, it's a threesome (maybe call it a trio instead of a couple?).

To classify fascism as specifically right or left makes no sense. Of course, to treat all politics and governments on one scale also makes no sense.

Fair enough but you might want to stop goosestepping around the office humming Home on the Rhine lest people get the wrong impression... :D ;)

Oh, and shave that stupid mustache...

I know you take pride in your ignorance, but Godwin's Law is 25 years old at this point. It's not an esoteric or arcane reference.

They classify Nazism as "right-wing" as a means passing the Hot Potato, despite, as Joe said, the party's official name having "socialist" in it.

And why did I call out Kep? He's been pushing for gun control, and all of the similar Bernie Sanders BS on here for years. Learn from history, or be doomed to repeat it.

And the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is a democracy, I mean, it's in the name and all!

All of their officials are - and always have been - publicly elected by their god, Kim Jong-Variable.

Like most conservatives Bob remains rooted in 1982. ;) Before you get on his case about that, it should be said the entire GOP field running for President shares that state of mind.

Trump is more of a "stuck in 1986" guy. The blow was just as good and '68 had a good crop...

Re: 2nd Term Part X - A link to a fore gone conclusion

Trump and Carson are tapping into a disaffection with the political establishment. Don't discount it. Somebody is going to be the establishment candidate from the GOP to counter those two. The rest will be quietly told to drop out and support TEC and they'll get rewarded. Don't and they'll be punished.

This is going to be interesting and good theater.

And don't mention the war.

As always I see that unofan's sense of humor is missing in action.
