What is that nipping at my ankles? A toy poodle? That's the ultimate insult in your pathetic quiver, isn't it? Sarah Palin. You ladies are really obsessed by her, aren't you?

I always think of it like this: If he can go on a good rant out here he most likely goes to bed early, which earns whoever's on night duty in his ward at the sanitarium a much much easier shift. Just my little contribution to society....;)

Judge Posner issues a mea culpa on his opinion upholding Indiana's Voter ID law which SCOTUS later upheld 6-3. He acknowledges the law is more about voter suppression than fraud prevention.

No word from Vegas for an over/under on how long it takes tea partiers to declare Posner (freaking Posner!) an activist libtard judge.

She is a pathetic insult, and that is what makes her continued cred among so many in the tea party neighborhood of the GOP so astounding. I do not doubt that you think she is an idiot who should never have been selected to run for any office above sophomore class secretary. But she was selected, and that happened because the Candidate and his people thought she would appeal to the tail that was thought to be, and apparently is, wagging the dog.

But you really do need to stop by the church Wednesday night--we need some snarl.

There was only one problem: the Obamcare toll-free phone number was overloaded and immediately crashed. According to Lou Dubois of NBC News, "Call centers now appear overloaded due to volume. 'Please call back.'" Dubois wasn't the only one reporting the new glitches. Annie Lowrey of The New York Times added, "For the record, just called 1-800-318-2596, got a busy signal." Kasie Hunt of NBC News: "Just called the number. They said there's too high call volume and call back on the weekend. 'We're sorry for the inconvenience. Goodbye.'"

I do like how the rhetoric has changed though. Two weeks ago ObamaCare was going to cause the end of the Republic, now the critics are complaining it isn't signing people up fast enough. :)

That's the delusional, Black Knight explanation. The truth of the matter is this roll out has been such a gigantic epic cluster-bleep that even Consumer's Union is recommending people stay away (at least for the time being). These geniuses have had three years to prepare. And this is what they bring us? Where's Ira Magaziner when you really need him?

What happened to: "It passed the house and senate; the President signed it; the Supreme Court upheld it--it's the law?" Or did last week's talking points have an expiration date?

Zzzzzzzz....did you knuckledraggers ever worry that the interest in signing up isn't a good thing for your side? Eventually these people will get through, which doesn't bode well for your position.

For the record, this is annoying but not surprising given how long it takes for Obama's team to implement things once passed into law. I'd also point to Dodd-Frank as something that's taken way too long by its own design to fully get going. Now that he's finally learned how to negotiate with the opposition, this is the biggest complaint I have about his Presidency.

I'm kind of curious about the sign up myself. I personally don't know anyone who has signed up, but admittedly I have a limited number of acquaintances.

Has anyone here actually gone to the website and created an account? Signed up for coverage? Obtained the golden "tax credit"?

Slightly off topic--interested in how you all feel about Gov. Christie, particularly the conservatives. This is a pragmatic guy and viable candidate who appears unwilling to let the social cons and tea partiers dictate his policies. Certainly, being gov of New Jersey is a lot different than getting the nomination in that party, but he seems like one who will refuse to be taken hostage by narrow but vocal interests. I doubt many in the midwest or west know much about him though, other than what they heard after Sandy and the comments on his weight. It just seems that Republicans and getting tired of losing battles as a result of strategies designed to accommodate social conservatives, and nearly everybody is tired of standoff politics. No doubt tea partiers will claim he is a go-along compromiser who will change nothing.
