If Obama forces everyone to vote, would he then support people identifying themselves with a valid ID to keep track of who has voted or who has not? But, hey, why should I expect him to make sense?

I just want Guam, Puerto Rico, American Samoa and the other territories, protdctorates, and wholly-owned subsidiaries to get legit voting rights. And in the case of American Samoa, become actual citizens.

LWT really opened my eyes on that one.

My wife was born on Guam. You'd be amazed (or not) how small a percentage of people know that it's part of the US.

Which is sad given everything Oliver mentioned about them. I knew they were part of the US but didn't know they couldn't vote.

Count me among the "not amazed" crowd. I'm almost positive that a significant percentage of Americans couldn't correctly point to Iran on a world map.

The territories are screwed for so many reasons. The poverty is appalling -- it's as bad as anywhere on the planet. Local government is also third world in terms of levels of corruption. And between the military and corporations the indigenous population has been raped continuously for about a hundred years.

Actually, a significant percentage wouldn't be able to point to the United States. Ever wonder why Carmen Sandiego is making a return?

Can somebody explain why I'm supposed to be upset about Common Core? As a parent I really don't see the big deal.
