To be fair, the Comments on Democratic Underground are just as scary.

Someone should put together a top 10 list of the crazy/dumbest things on both DU and Freep, and then have the readers of each vote on whether they think they're true. That would be an enlightening exercise. I can tell you that the only time I read DU is for the laughs.

My mental image of the typical Freeper is a Texan in a McMansion or a podiatrist in a Colorado Springs megachurch. They seem like entitled middle class yahoos living up to their ears in hock and whining about how hard it is to be a white male these days.

No argument on DU. ;)

It's almost impossible to not regress to this sort of status. Remember that the 1% require sheeple to achieve their power.

Read the link, it's interesting. I reverse the author's reference, and for that matter I believe it's naive to think we can ever just "abolish" functional institutions. To me the safest path is checks and balances -- the bureaucracy and the plutocracy should be pushed into constant rivalry and tension so that neither can gain the upper hand and enslave the rest of us. That was the magic of the America of the 40's through 60's. It was when the plutocracy began to dominate that America began to fall apart. But the author does makes some excellent points.

I'm sure the RNC has had a thousand fabricated Hillary scandals ready for press since 2000. They're going to be rolling out one a day from now until the election.

Conducting government business using a private provider and then not turning over the entire contents of the account is a bad thing for Secretary Clinton. She violated the law by using a private provider, and then by not turning over the entire contents of the email account opens her up to all sorts of questions that could have and should have been avoided in the first place.

Now, I understand not wanting to turn over private business and bondage porn emails, but that's a big reason as to why you don't comingle you personal and business email accounts. Then you get started on the level of security of using a private email account, which is where the biggest provable concern rests. It was a stupid, perhaps even arrogant, move by Clinton. She should've known better.

I do not see any way of stopping her or Jeb from having the nominations locked up before the first caucus vote. Who's going to stand in their way? Gillebrand? Walker?

This is a lumbering kaiju battle; none of the Bambis are going to beat Godzilla.
