2nd Term Part IX - How Lame is my Duck

Re: 2nd Term Part IX - How Lame is my Duck

Uh oh, Hilary used private EMail account for Govt business as SoS. Won't be long before they grind her into the dirt

If Bush gets away with releasing the privates on thousands of his constituents, you can bet Hillary will get off using private email for govt. use. What gets candidates in hot water is not what they do...but what they say.

Come clean, cop to it as a security violation, take the air out of it.

This is a poutrage story that 50% of voters will never hear about and 30% will forget about when the next shiny thing comes along in 2 weeks. It will stick in the craw of the 20% of Hillary haters and be one of a hundred Crimes Against Humanity they'll hold against her for having a (D) after her name. SSDD.

As to the merits, FWIW politicals break the rules all the time. It's one of the rules of the road that career blues and contractors have to live with. I guarantee every SOS and SecDef have used back-channel means of communication. Now personally I'm a process guy so that kind of stuff bugs me more than most, but it is one of the facts of life of dealing with politicals.

Depressing, not surprising. This is what you will always get in a country drummed into a perpetual state of fear and ruled solely for the interests of less than 1% of its population.

Some thoughts.

Finally got around to reading this, and it's too bad this isn't taught in schools; this is actual history.

Re: 2nd Term Part IX - How Lame is my Duck

I'm sure the RNC has had a thousand fabricated Hillary scandals ready for press since 2000. They're going to be rolling out one a day from now until the election.
IIRC, the official house organ of the Clinton Organization, the New York Times, first broke the story.

Everybody knows the official house organ of the Clinton Organization is the New Yorker. :p

(Though you're right, the NYT is going to be embarrassingly in the tank for Hillary. Elites of a feather.)

I wasn't talking about this particular story. I was saying that in general there will be a new poutrage every day during the campaign from the Echo Chamber. Fox & Fiends are going to Swiftboat the B1tch Goddess so hard she'll think she's back in 'Nam with Bill O'Reilly.

Oh please. If John Boehner had done this instead of Hillary Clinton, the poutrage coming from you and the rest of your liberal lunatic crew would be off the charts. You won't own that, but everyone knows it's true.

So you're freely admitting you're ginning up an outcry for political purposes and merely saying both sides do it? Well, that's progress for the knucks, I guess. The first step is admitting you have a problem...

The first step would actually be responding to my comment without putting words in my mouth. Your giant leaps are amusing, but wholly and obviously misleading to anyone with half a brain. You're such an intelligent person, I wonder why you have to resort to such infantile tactics.

I did on purpose just what you originally did, either by accident or on purpose. I responded to an accusation by turning it around and accusing you. When you do that you don't address the original accusation, as you just pointed out.

I'm glad we can both agree that is merely a rhetorical tactic and not effective argumentation. Thank you for your participation.

Oh, if you want to go back and address the original disagreement, to the extent I even understand what you were saying, it seems like you were ducking the idea that the RNC will be both exaggerating and outright fabricating damaging stories in order to distract and defame the Democratic nominee.

Based on prior experience I can't imagine why you think that won't happen, but I'm willing to listen to your theory about why this time it will be any different.

Re: 2nd Term Part IX - How Lame is my Duck

This is exactly how the Nazi SS were created, and it is now happening here. http://www.cops.usdoj.gov/pdf/taskforce/Interim_TF_Report.pdf

Procedurally just behavior is based on four central principles:

1. Treating people with dignity and respect
2. Giving individuals ‘voice’ during encounters
3. Being neutral and transparent in decision making
4. Conveying trustworthy motives

Yeah, that sounds just like the SS.

When I think of the SS I think of a personal paramilitary force created and operating extra-legally as the dictator's personal bodyguard and then, as it gets bigger, as a coercive force to protect party officials, enforce party edicts, and attack dissenters.

How is this anything like that?

Did you get to part 2.13 yet?

2.13 sounds a lot like the FBI. Which could go either way -- I'll bet this is actually about federal standards for training and oversight so more Fergusons don't happen.

However, I will admit that if the bad guys held the executive instead I would likely have visions of Flow My Tears, The Policeman Said.

I'll agree that federalizing local (and by definition, small) police departments is another brick in the wall.

Re: 2nd Term Part IX - How Lame is my Duck

60 straight months of private sector job growth. What a failure.

Re: 2nd Term Part IX - How Lame is my Duck

Er, I think the persistence of a phenomenon pretty much excludes the hypothesis that it is seasonal or temporary by definition.

Actually if anything, it supports it. Remember that the job reports are partially based upon how many people have made new or returning jobless claims (as you have to file every week). "Job growth" would mean that less people are filing continued claims. One of the biggest assumptions being made is that the size of the work force remains the same, and I'm fairly certain it has diminished in that time. Also, private sector jobs would imply both part-time and full-time. How many of those would have multiple jobs associated with one worker?

Considering you just "guaranteed" that defendants brought up on federal charges after being exonerated at the state level would challenge it as double jeopardy, I'm going to take your assumptions with a huge grain of salt. Come back with some real numbers and we can talk.
