Who the hell is that guy and thats F'in disgusting

Another member of Priceless' "obscurium" who causes his nipples to harden?

Oh that he was so obscure.

The law is supposed to improve women's health...so why is he telling women to bookmark a website that sells coat hangers?

Meanwhile, a Republican talks some sense. No doubt he will primaried in 2014.

What happened to the Republican Party that I joined? The party where conservative presidential candidate Barry Goldwater felt women should have the right to control their own destiny? The party where President Ronald Reagan said a poor person showing up in the emergency room deserved needed treatment regardless of ability to pay? What happened to the Republican Party that felt government should not overregulate people until (as we say in Oklahoma) “you have walked a mile in their moccasins”?

Is my thinking too clouded by my experiences in the real world? Experiences like having a preacher, in the privacy of an exam room say, “Doc, you have heard me preach against abortion but now my 15-year-old daughter is pregnant, where can I send her?

Maybe ask the guy from redstate.com?

When it comes to the daughter, she made a mistake, and now she has to pay the piper. It's called living with your mistakes, something whiny huff-and-puffers can't seem to get through their thick skulls, and it looks like neither can this dude. Take some responsibility for your actions.

Supposedly, a media-popular method of abortion is to use coat hangers, and so he is recommending DIY.

good site! Thanks for the reference. And in case the coathanger thing is still a mystery to you: "you have my apologies for offending you for thinking I was being serious instead of accurately realizing I was mocking you and your outrageous hyperbole and lies." It's definitely a worthwhile read. There is a side in that debate that is completely disgusting and not worth wasting oxygen on, but it's not the pro-life side btw. I'll never understand the rage and bloodlust that new babies inspire in some people.

(In case you don't want to read the whole thing: The Democrat Party went to the TX abortion debate to hold up coathangers, throw urine and feces, and tampons. Sad to say, typical Democratics. This is the behavior the gentleman blogging "redstate.com" was mocking.

If legalized abortion means fewer kids and ill-prepared parents soaking up my tax dollars just to survive, then it's an evil I accept.

Yes... and obviously I could never justify supporting a ban on the grounds of self-interest. That's the opposite side from where I approach it. (your argument is perfectly sound and logical from that side)

My point of view is - I'm not a woman, and it's women who ultimately make the abortion decision. So, I take the Freakanomics view - fewer kids born to single young mothers logically means reduced welfare expenditures, arguably reduces the pool of future criminals, and offers a better future for the would-be mother who is no longer faced with getting a crappy McJob and trying to raise a child. And while adoption is an option, all too often those who say "give it up for adoption" are simply oblivious to the harsh realities of the foster care and adoption system.

Oh BS. We live in an age where women are liberated and empowered and this takes away from their right to control their bodies. The only people who think women should "be held responsible" for their actions are evil representatives of the patriarchy. Besides, it's been proven time and again that balls of cells can't feel pain.

Wheeeee, congrats on swimming out beyond the buoyed zone, all the way out to the deepest part of the ocean in fact. Not that FlagDUDE was much better with his, "a 15 year-old girl should be thrown out on the street and take complete responsibility for getting preggers" shtick.

You really aren't buying the 'uh oh...I'm in trouble' after-the-fact CYA stories. It just makes those on the right look out of touch when they say a guy like Erickson is clever and is making a point...after he deleted his post immediately in a panic. Fox loves it no matter what because they make serious bucks entertaining the right.

I don't go to RedState and I don't watch CNN (or Fox or MSNBC) except on festive occasions. I've never heard of this clown (not exactly H. V. Kaltenborn, is he?). But you specialize in prowling around looking for silly things said by social conservatives and then posting them here as big "ta dah" moments. It's stupid, and lazy stereotyping, but it's you. Revealing some silly quote by an imbecile GOP county chairman in Arkansas, was your finest hour. Why should I pay any attention to borderline obscure people, when you so obsessively do it for me?

The "kid killing caucus"? Oh that's rich.

When did I ever say anything about being thrown out on the street?

Re: 2nd Term Part 5: Big Brotha

You didn't, I put the words in your mouth, for which I apologize, however:

This is the kind of talk favored by social conservatives when it comes to abortion, and most of them tend to have a "throw her to the wolves" attitude. I thought you were a libertarian? That's where I lean on the abortion issue - if it reduces poverty, welfare, sh*tty childhoods, and keeps a few criminals off the streets, then it's an evil I accept.

Should abortion be a means of birth control? Where is the line drawn?

The Texas legislature is attempting a compromise between the two all or nothing camps. Neither side is going to like the final result, but that's what legislatures do.

Really? What about the new law angers social conservatives?

Re: 2nd Term Part 5: Big Brotha

Yes. I know that you won't agree with that, which I respect, but that's pretty much what I'm saying.

That's what two-party democracy is all about. It's why I wish we had a viable third party, even if they only garnered 20% of the vote.
