2nd Term - Part 3 - Echo Chambers, Chorales, and Wingnuts, Oh My!

Re: 2nd Term - Part 3 - Echo Chambers, Chorales, and Wingnuts, Oh My!

The only problem with your narrative is that if Obama is the most self serving politician ever then there's no reason for him to do what you're accusing him of.

Think about it for a minute. The political damage to Obama's Presidency was the death of 4 Americans including the Ambassador. That's what will change people's votes. Whether Al Quada, Al Shebab, Al Barbeque, etc did it or not doesn't add to or take away from the act itself, which was the attack and deaths. What would Obama possibly gain by claiming it was spontaneous vs planned? It probably would have been more politically expedient to pin this on AQ and use the rally round the flag tactic especially against foreign policy virgins Romney and Ryan.

So, to sum up, there was nothing to gain politically for Obama to change any talking points. The fact that an attack and deaths happened were the overriding issue with the electorate, not a memo weeks afterwards.

OK, so let's consider this: When it was being brought up on shows such as Face the Nation or Meet the Press, why was it constantly being deflected? Yet now, all news outlets (including the Huff) are willing to bring some attention to the story? If it wasn't going to cause any political damage, why were they trying to cover it up?

Re: 2nd Term - Part 3 - Echo Chambers, Chorales, and Wingnuts, Oh My!

Maybe folks should spend some time looking at how many embassy attacks there were under the Bush Administration. Then maybe they can rationally decide how stupid this whole ordeal is and we can move on. Seriously, color me shocked that someone died in Libya. I'm sure if I wanted to travel there the State Department would let me know immediately that I'd be placing my life in my own hands by setting one foot into that place.

All the whole thing is is an anti-Hillary brigade. O'Reilly should be ashamed of himself for even thinking Benghazi is a scandal. Especially since he's the only one on the right that's smart enough to figure out that none of the other things are scandals either.

OK Scooby, how many were there?

Re: 2nd Term - Part 3 - Echo Chambers, Chorales, and Wingnuts, Oh My!

Would you please provide some specifics?

Look it up yourself. Not doing your research for you.

I'll give you the Republican talking points when this fact is pointed out to them so you don't have to regurgitate it.

1. An Ambassador was killed this time. That didn't happen under Bush.
2. The GOP thinks the administration lied or covered up what they knew about Benghazi so Obama could get reelected.

Otherwise there's no difference. Embassies get attacked all the time. People die in the Middle East all the time. There's not enough money in the world to save them.

They weren't covering anything up is the point, mostly because it wouldn't do them any good. Had they covered up the fact that the actual attack happened, then sure I can see the rationale. As Hillary Clinton correctly stated, what difference did it make at that point who committed the act? The overriding concern was 4 people died. Launching a cover up in that part of the world is d @ mn near impossible. The perps could have easily filmed the attack, waited for Obama to make up a story, and then sent the video to Al Jazeera and completely embarrassed the US. A lot of conspiracy theorists are acting like Libya is Gitmo, where the US military has complete control over all communications. That's not the case so even if I was rooting for The O to sanitize the story I don't see how he could have.

You missed one...Bush was actually fighting the war on terror in Iraq at the time...Obama claims the war is over because OBL is dead, therefore it is peace time event which is rightfully a bigger deal...

Change Bush to Clinton. Same thing. Attacks happened under Clinton as well. No war while he was in office.

Except one thing: the moderator from CNN during the second debate even helped to cover up the story, or at least paint the big L on Mittens, which is in and of itself a cover-up.

The USA will never return to peacetime. An infinite state of war is the only way fro the government to control the people. That's what happened in Rome to make Julius Ceasar dictator for life, and it will happen again.

OK Bear Red. As for your other points, you're headed back to the ignore list. I tried giving you a chance, and you blew it.

LOL. No, the moderator was correct. Romney blew it.

How's your Gold stash? I hear it tanked. Did Beck apologize yet?

Re: 2nd Term - Part 3 - Echo Chambers, Chorales, and Wingnuts, Oh My!

Can somebody please show me where Obama claimed AQ was defeated completely and the War on Terror was over? I watched the news conference when he announced Bin Laden had been killed and I don't recall seeing any Mission Accomplished banners behind him. So, if he said that, kindly post a link or some sort of reference please.

Obama claims the war is over because OBL is dead, therefore it is peace time event which is rightfully a bigger deal...

For some strange reason, BHO decided that OBL's death was also the end of al Qaida. That struck me at the time as bizarre "reasoning" and it has looked ever more bizarre since.

You do realize that those posts were in response to different posters, right? Or didn't you figure that out yet? Yeah, I didn't think so.
Oh...that's different then! So you feel anyone who disagrees with you must back up their "claims" yet see no reason you should answer any questions of those who disagree with you? :D

 You're a fine conservatard to be sure. Because...you're sure worth the time. ;)
