24 - Day 8 - Jack Bauer Takes on NYC

Re: 24 - Day 8 - Jack Bauer Takes on NYC

Second silent clock in a row.

I'm sad. Mostly because we - and by we I mean I - finally got to see Jack get some. HAWT. And now he's all sad and stuff. :(

Re: 24 - Day 8 - Jack Bauer Takes on NYC

This season sucked for the first 14 hours, but they're really pulling out all the stops now. Now that they know it's the end, it looks like we're in for a season 5 type bloodbath. Tremendous potential to end the series. Why can't Jack ever be happy?

So true.

it's nice to know that Jack has time for this in the middle of an international crisis

That was also Renee's second silent clock, wasn't it? Doesn't look like she'll get any more.:(

Agreed. I forgot about that line; ain't that the truth :D.

Sad to see Renee go, but I agree with RicoForPresident; this ought to be a good end to the series. Nothing better than watching a p!ssed off Jack Bauer.

Re: 24 - Day 8 - Jack Bauer Takes on NYC

With the direction this season seems to be heading, I'm increasingly feeling that the final episode will end with Jack's death. To be quite honest, and I say this as a diehard 24 fan who's seen every single episode, I think I would be alright with that. Somehow I think it would be fitting, since Jack endlessly searches for some sort of peace and normalcy, and can never find it while alive. I think his dying at the end of the series would be one last twist that the writers are so good at delivering, and it would be fitting.

Considering plans are in the works for a 24 movie, I'm thinking that's not going to happen.

....what's important to remember here is that this is only one very bad day out of Jack's year.

I like to think the rest of the year Jack spends kickin' back watching action movies on the couch,...playing a little golf,....company picnics.....etc..

Who's to say that the 24 movie is going to take place after the end of the series? Personally, I think a movie about Jack's rise to #1 asskicker in all the land would be great.

But then they couldn't use Kiefer Sutherland as the lead and that's the point of the movie. Could be a good idea for a spin off series, though. Young Jack Bauer Chronicles. Someone should send that idea to FOX!!!

I think a fitting way for the series to end is to have Chloe finally realize her dream of hooking up with Jack.

:p

While I don't disagree, I'm thinking he's got to end up with his Grandaugher. Right? Plus, they need to keep him alive, "just in case," for the next time some bad **** is about to go down somewhere in the USofA. Even if there are no "official" plans to continue the series ;) :)

The CTU company picnic would be awesome. Chloe would be working the grill all snippy like "if you wanted your burger done you should've told me that" and if someone complimented her cooking she'd get all awkward and say "I'm not good with praise" and Jack would be grabbing people by the shoulders yelling "TELL ME WHERE THE MUSTARD IS" and if there were any former coworkers there he'd ask them "NICE TO SEE YOU AGAIN, WHO ARE YOU WORKING FOR THESE DAYS?" and the softball game would have moles on both teams intentionally striking out and dropping popups. It'd be great.
