We fully intended to attend a few games. Had been waiting for it to come back to our part of the country. Most years, it's my favorite hockey.
Once tix went on sale and I saw the prices - $150 per ticket pre fees - we tapped out. Would have gone to a USA game and a rando game.
Almost $200 a ticket x3 for at least two games - that's a lot for a sporting event. Can afford... that's not the issue but after hotel and food, that amount of money would go a long way towards some other type of trip at a nicer time of year or in a warmer part of the world.
I saw that the tix have come down in price but we're well past the decision making window.
If we lived there, I'm sure we'd have gone to some.
I wonder why they didn't price for attendance. NCAA regionals never do either and they have mostly empty arenas too. Put those random non-USA or non-Canada games at a cheap price and maybe more people or even youth teams go.
I don't think it's a bad reflection on the host area though. The ticket prices are (were) just ridiculous.
