2026 Winter Olympics: Thread Title Under Construction

The danger of hype comes up again- the "quad god" didn't hit is quads and fell while attempting a different jump. Didn't even medal. He was supposed to be one of the sure golds for the US team. And he was just good enough at the team event.

Nice that NBC follows his pain, since they were the ones who put him so high on the pedestal.

Seems weird to me that they never resurface the ice so if you are in 1st place after prelims you end up on the worst ice. Not that seemed like a big issue for Ilia, he just let his nerves get to him

To be fair, it was not just Milanin. The Top 4 from the short program went 1 > 15, 2 > 6, 3 > 12, and 4 > 8.

Shockingly, there’s a judging controversy in Ice Dancing.

The judge, Jezabel Dabouis, favored Beaudry and Cizeron by nearly eight points over the three-time world champions in the free dance, a margin so large that if her score was removed from the equation entirely, Chock and Bates would have won gold.

This is not the first time Dabouis has turned in questionable scores for Beaudry and Cizeron. At the Grand Prix Final in December, when Chock and Bates beat them in their only other head-to-head matchup, the judge had the Americans narrowly beating them in the free dance despite two deductions, including an egregious fall. The French team wound up with a silver medal.

Latvia beats germany which means the US has a very easy path to bye into the QF. Win tonight, especially by multiple goals, and they've locked up the #1 spot in group C.

Is NBC running multiple commentary crews for games? Italy-Finland on USA had the NHL crew, then the game got bumped because it's 9-0. Switched to Peacock and it's a different team. Might actually just be one guy.
