If it's old news then how is no one posted it sooner? He’s gone… old news
Mark Johnson has talked about the differences between coaching male players vs female players a number of times, and how he had to adjust. I never thought about who might be able to go the other way, but Muzerall - and I mean this as a compliment - might be able to do it.So Muzerall is applying for the men's job? She'll get back to the twin cities one way or another.
Do we have an example of a male hockey coach who moved from coaching females to coaching males and demonstrated success with the transition? I'm sure there are examples in sports like basketball and volleyball, as they have a larger footprint. It seems that not that many even attempt it. After the 2003-04 season, Joel Johnson moved from being a UM assistant to Bethel, where he coached the men's team. Given he then came back to resume being a Gopher women's assistant, I don't think we can call that an outright success, no matter what he achieved at D-III men's. With the way the world works, I think someone like a younger Mark Johnson is going to have to show that success in women's coaching translates to success in men's hockey before a female coach will ever be given any consideration.Mark Johnson has talked about the differences between coaching male players vs female players a number of times, and how he had to adjust. Does Sierra coach, a package deal?So Muzerall is applying for the men's job? She'll get back to the twin cities one way or another.
For the most part I wish she could coach our men's team as well as the women's, especially when it comes to recruiting! So Muzerall is applying for the men's job? She'll get back to the twin cities one way or another.
Jessica Campbell, the assistant coach of the Kraken, also coached for the Firebirds and in Germany. She had some stints for girls' clubs before transitioning to coaching men.Do we have an example of a male hockey coach who moved from coaching females to coaching males and demonstrated success with the transition?
