2025 Women's Worlds starts tomorrow

Surprise, surprise. Another stupid Abbey Murphy penalty. Will coaches ever hold her accountable?
It isn't like she's such a great goal scorer that you can't sit her. She was pretty invisible against UW other than taking stupid penalties.

So Japan second in group B. That seems like a surprise. Game against Canada will tell quality of group B. Hopefully USA doesn't stick to script of beating Canada in preliminary round and lose in final.

Tereza Plosova puts Czechia up 1-0 over USA after 1 period in the semi final. Plosova is committed to Minnesota according to elite prospects.

US started well, but couldn’t bury anything. Last ten minutes were sloppy. KK Harvey looking like the best player on the ice per usual.

Interesting play in the FIN CAN game. Watts was tracking a puck carrier in the neutral zone. Karvinen got in between them looking trying to prevent watts from getting to the puck. Karvinen couldn’t handle the contact and now Watts is tossed from the game. I hope she’s back tomorrow. Absolutely cruel if not.

Never mind even comparing this to the Murphy no call in the ncaa championship. Earlier this morning there were plenty of hits - Curl and Murphy both got rocked, and whistles were put away.

US advances, 2-1 win over Czechia. Goals from Edwards and Pannek.

Outshot them pretty good but a pretty chaotic, sloppy game.
Only saw the highlights; with the quantity of weak plays through the middle in the D-zone, I don't know that I could stomach the full game. Doubt Canada is too worried.

Feels like Canada is the favorite for the championship game. US just sort of got by while the Canadiens pounded their opponents. Of course a win is a win, but the US has to bring it up a bit to pullout the win tomorrow in my opinion.

Which means the exact opposite will occur.
