2025 Bracketology: The Road to Utica!

Now that the seedings are official, why don't #2 HC and #3 UU meet in the first semi?
I was wondering the same thing. That is the reason for my earlier reseeding comment , perhaps recalculating the NPI after Saturday's games, I know it makes no sense, but I'm not sure anything is making sense if you're a rules follower. I am happy the game is in the region , now I need a couple of tickets for Friday.

I agree, this is not at the home teams rink. There is little point in having rules if they don’t get followed.
D3 fan to NCAA: "I see Nexus only holds 1,600 and it's NOT Utica's home ice. Genny's rink holds 2,500 with newly renovated seating and great sight lines. Why not hold it at Genny where MORE fans could attend and INCREASE your revenue by a substantial margin? Or do you want to disregard your own rules for the event site and hold it at Nexus? I think your decision stinks - maybe in the future you could abide by your own rules consistently to avoid the unnecessary confusion we're now seeing."

The NCAA is an academic adjacent organization. In my 35+ years in academia I have learned that there is (almost) no rule that can not be overridden by the right signature on the right form.

And that’s been the problem forever. It’s better now, but mysterious decisions are still going on…. Without explanation either

Because they don't reseed.

So the brackets are laid out (and locked in) on the assumption the top four seeds win out.

Thus, that order is:
Curry
Hobart
Aurora
Utica

Therefore, the #1 seed bracket plays the #4 seed bracket. Check.
The #2 seed bracket plays the #3 seed bracket. Well, in this case, Geneseo came out of the #3 seed bracket. But because the brackets are locked in, it "appears" the lowest seed is playing the #2 seed instead of the #1 seed. I mean technically that's true, but that's only because the top seed in that bracket didn't win it.

The brackets are locked. The NCAA has never, ever in any sport adjusted brackets.

It appears there are NCAA rules for Utica and NCAA rules for everone else. Go Curry

OK, just to spur discussion....check out the chart below. Two of the FF teams rank at the very top in team Defense....the other two rank at the top in team Offense.

Does the old cliche "defense wins championships" hold true....or is it the alternative cliche "you can't win if you don't score"?

Geneseo announced their ticket info for Friday: $20 tickets and $5 for a bus

$5 for the bus. That's a great deal. Obviously subsidized by the school. Good for them.

Maybe I'll drive down to Geneseo and pick up the bus. ;) It'll be cheaper than my tolls alone getting to Utica, never mind gas.

The $5 deal is for tickets and the bus for students, the rest of us have to pay $20 and drive ourselves lol

Apparently Tge AUD which seats 4000 has obligations this weekend. I have been to Aud many times over the years, my experience with Oswego playing there would pack the place. Utica has a good number of season ticket holders. I think someone wrote the Nexus center has 1600, that is very generous, more like 1200

With standing room, it's 1,600. And they are selling 1,600 tickets, so they can't lie about that.
