2025 Bracketology: The Road to TBD!

Great job putting together the brackets. The West will have to play through the East and earn the right to host the final four. While I don't like to jinx the Statesmen by assuming anything(especially with either Trine or Oswego as their first game), it would be interesting to have a Curry/Utica/Hobart/Geneseo final four, with Curry hosting. If any of the West teams advance to the final four, they likely will host.
The Frozen Four could have four Eastern teams. It could also have three Western teams.

Did they screw up the bracket in the selection show? I can't believe they are setting up an East/West matchup in the QF...
We could potentially have zero western teams in the semis. Which means the championship weekend gets hosted in the East. So much for favoring a western site...

This is going to be a fun tournament to follow. Wish Curry and UNE wasn’t a possible QF matchup but that should be a slugfest. Potential for Aurora vs Geneseo and Utica vs St Norbert matchup in the QF will bring out the fireworks.

Assuming Utica takes down Fitchburg they’ll finally get a chance to take down a D3 west team for all the glory… glory of a QF win

Can Curry or Hobart host???

Curry is even smaller than Endicott and everyone here mocks Hobart’s rink in terms of from a fan perspective
Despite the fact that Hobart is a 45 minute drive for me, I hope they don't. That would be ridiculous. But, I remember the last time a campus was going to host (Endicott got it), and Mark Taylor was trying to "convince" me they could. Of course, he had a smirk on his face when telling me that, so I'm going with he was pulling my leg all along.

But it is interesting the top two Eastern teams are not really suitable host sites...

Even as a Hobart fan we can't host a final four with a max capacity of 650, maybe 700 if you tip the fire commissioner. Not sure about Curry, but if Curry can't host and the West does not advance the remaining east teams are the host. I would be surprised if UU is selected since they are the host next year, which could leave Geneseo as the host. The chance that Aurora/St.Norbert/ Wisco/Gustavus all fail to advance is a stretch, but the committee has set it up that it is possible .

Tim Coghlin is getting his wish of not having the West play down to 1 team.

I wouldn't be surprised if Aurora might have difficulty hosting even if they were fortunate enough to advance. The rink they play at is suitable, but it's a busy facility and they are not the primary tenant (USHL's Chicago Steel.)

Edit: Yes, it looks like the Steel host a series that weekend.

Even though the NCAA was willing to blow their travel budget with this bracket, I don't see them resisting the allure of selling 4,000 tickets, potentially for two nights.

Besides, on the women's side, River Falls was selected last year as a campus site, and then the NCAA turned around and selected River Falls again this year as a pre-determined site.

Something I haven't seen mentioned yet is Oswego vs Trine first round matchup. That is 515 miles per NCAA mileage calculator.
My understanding is that they have to offer Oswego a flight. Whether or not they take it is up in the air. Given Trine's location, I bet the flight isn't worth the hassle, and Oz buses there.

Hamilton did this on the women's side a couple years ago when they played @ Adrian.

An hour from the Toledo, OH airport if they were to charter...
