I don't think this was a failure at all. What were the Secret Service supposed to do? This was a white man exercising his Second Amendment right to carry a firearm. Not just any firearm, the exact model championed by the felon and his supporters. Had the Secret Service or any other law enforcement entity stopped him the GQP would have lambasted them for infringing his Constitutional rights.

Joe Kernen on CNBC spouted off last week with similar MSM is in the bag for the dems talk, and after his monologue, there was this awkward silence, then the topic at hand continued to be discussed. In that awkward pause you could practically hear the internal voice from everyone saying "you just ranted how Right Wing talk is silenced on the network of a corporation that caters to the right wing, withOUT being canceled."
