Why? She is the Governor of Michigan she isn't running for higher office yet. If she has prior engagements she shouldn't abandon them to campaign with Biden who doesn't need her help in Detroit. Assuming there is another election chances are whoever will end up the nominee is not someone most of the country knows yet.

Plus, Newsome has plenty of name recognition and he is trailing Trump too so I think it is more than just recognition.
 
MSNBC's primetime lineup ratings have tanked since they joined in on the "Biden is too OLD!1!1" mantra last week. Down 29% overall and 47% in the 25-54 demo. What's crazy is, and I can't confirm this, but that is still better than CNN has been doing as MSNBC at one point was doubling them up.

The crosstabs are killing Trump...and since in the same poll 4/10 Indys and 6/10 GOPers say they have no idea what Project 2025 is...well I don't think that is going to help.

If the Old White Brigade in Congress could shut their faces up they could see things aren't as bleak as you think. 2/3rds of Independents care more about lying than age. Hell GOPers are friggin split on it! 7/10 voters say lying is worse than age. Just hold the line and shut the (bleep) up and you are doing fine.

(oh and BTW Biden is +2 in the poll despite it all)

Biden +2 means a Trump win. Biden needs to be a +6.

+2 means he’s losing a bunch of rust belt states.
 
Donnie railing against Republicans who either voted against, or just didn't show, an amendment banning federal and state funds for the prosecution of former presidents. Amendment never made it out of committee because of it. 'Thanks for all your support"

Now, just why is Donnie so concerned about prosecutions of former presidents? He's already said he's going after Biden. Why would he want an amendment that won't allow him to do so?

Biden likely wouldn’t be competent enough to prosecute.

Its July. +2 is +2. The way some are carrying on you would think he is -5.

Biden just had the entire media landscape and a bunch of his own party freaking out because of a debate and since then he has opened up a bigger lead in two of the battleground states and at worst is treading water with where he was prior to the debate in most polling. He has made like 500 public appearances and whenever asked voters seem to still prefer him over Trump. (or other Dem nominees) If you want to just look at the headline of the poll that is fine...but there is more to it than just "people think Biden is too old!". While that is true, they still would rather have the guy who is too old than the guy who is a liar.

after January 6th he should be running away with it. +2 vs an insurrectionist is alarming, as is the amount of negative press generated by his debate performance.

If Biden were 15 years younger he might have a 10 point lead.
 
Why does anyone care about polls anymore?
They were wrong in 2020, wrong in 2022, and will be wrong in 2024.
Millenials and younger don't answer their phones.

There is no way to accurately predict an election because 50% of the electorate is unreachable.

So, every poll is going to over emphasize older and Republican voters. A -2 Biden is likely a +5 Biden in reality.

Well the RNC is upon us so he can't stay silent for long. Plus, based on the ratings and subs no one pays attention to the media much anymore anyways ;)

Polling was wrong in France too I believe...

To be honest though, and I say that knowing I am the guy who rips the polls nonstop, it isn't that the polls are wrong it is that they are being misinterpreted or manipulated to bring about certain reactions. The headline for the PBS/Marist poll wasn't wrong, it just ignored a lot of factors and put out a more clickbaity option for various reasons. The more you break things down the less it looks bad for Biden and the worse it looks for Trump. It is a lack of doing any real analytical research which is what is making all of this skewed. As dx said in 2022...check the crosstabs!

Does that mean Biden is steamrolling and no one is concerned? Obviously not. It tells me a few things though:

1) Not much has changed since before the debate even with multiple news networks, celebrities, newspapers, bloggers and podcasters going ape[bleep] trying to make it seem like the world is ending...

2) While people are concerned about Biden and his age they aren't so concerned that they won't vote for him against Trump. I think if Trump was an unknown or a Mitt Romney type he would be cruising...but people know who Trump is and what he stands for and that is an albatross around his neck to go along with the other big one "Roe". The ones "concerned" the most never put forth a viable option meaning that Harris is the option...well she is already on the ticket and if you think Biden won't last the term guess who takes over?

The Dems are starting to remind me of NBC when it comes to The Tonight Show. (whether it was Dave/Leno or Leno/Conan)

It should be noted...in the last week more and more coverage of Project 2025 is starting to sneak into the media ecosphere. (The Biden team posts about it like 10 times a day on social media and have for quite a while as do many Dems) Google searches for it skyrocketed all last week and the popularity of it is at around Dobbs level. That is why Trump tried to distance himself from it...not only is it disgusting it is beyond perilous for this country and the economy. I mean they want to get rid of the FDIC and de-regulate the banks. The second FDIC protection is gone anyone with half a brain will pull their money out since it is no longer secure. There will be a heckuva run on the banks...

(there is 900 pages of bad ideas like this and more of them make it to light every day)

If the polls are always wrong by the same amount, they aren't wrong, they're being normalized wrong.
