I dont know...but if the Feds have everything they say they have Daddy Gaetz won't be able to save him like he did with the DUI. They have the texts, the phone calls, they even have evidence the mother drove the daughter (a Junior in HS) to his house. Everything is even geo-tagged.

Ya know what the best part of the Olivia Nuzzi story is...she is engaged to Ryan Lizza. If that name doesn't ring a bell he is the guy who got Scaramucci fired then was MeeTooed while working as the Washington Correspondent for The New Yorker and chitcanned. He is a Washington Correspondent for CNN and Politico.

My theory is there is way more to this story than we know. I think the affair deal (which they are of course downplaying) is just the raw meat for the media to hide something way worse. You don't nuke your credibility over some texts or even if you are caught banging him. I think she is compromised in other ways and they are using the salaciousness of this to deflect people from looking deeper.
 
I don't think this is the end of the story.

but I am really confused how you think this will distract people from the supposed real story. This will only invite more eyes and scrutiny.

I dont think it will, I think they think it will. I have seen crap like this before they assume people will care about the sex and ignore the rest. Add in the most ridiculous 12 hour period of politics ever and its easy to get out in front and try and defuse the story as quick as possible. Gives them a chance to circle the wagons before the bomb drops.

Normally it would never work (she would get a week tops) but I mean this story is lost in the shuffle right now. I mean think about it...no one is even talking about how Harris did a live event with Oprah and a bunch of stars where she said something to the effect of "I have a gun and if anyone comes into my house they are getting shot!". The Robinson story made yesterday a news dump day for almost every other subject until the Gaetz story.

They want this to look like an internal HR issue and they are hoping since she is friendly with a lot of corporate media (especially CNN) that they can keep this in a "favorable" light long enough for it to go away. It won't but they probably can't afford to fire her and let the bomb explode in their face. (if I am right and there is more) Hell it is possible they don't even know how bad it is they just know they can't let it all come out at once or all hell will break loose.

I know it makes no logical sense, but this is how media companies do this stuff. Look at Justin Roiland (Rick and Morty). The rumors started he had an inappropriate relationship with a younger fan...he goes into hiding and fights it very low key. Technically gets out of it only to have a dozen more stories come out and he is DOA. What are the chances that the people involved with the show didn't know there was more than one incident or find out the extent of it really early on? 0.0. But they knew if everything blew up at once the show was likely dead and the show made so much money they could not allow that to happen. So they had him deal with the one issue while they had time to figure out an exit strategy that wouldn't nuke the show from orbit and keep the cash coming in. New York Magazine is playing the same game.

The Harris campaign has been posting transcripts of his "press conferences" and rallies for a week or two now, and I'm for it. their only commentary is identifying that Trump is saying it.

I am going to say it again...there are going to be books written about how badly the "Free Press" was complicit in all of this. I mean it was bad enough when they did it with Reagan in the 80s (forever tarnishing the reputation of arguably the best person ever to be President Jimmy Carter) but how they have treated this election has been beyond the pale. The only good thing about it is that Biden has zero phucks to give and talks smack to their faces every time they ask him a question he doesn't like. And Harris basically ignoring them and getting her points to the people unfiltered is even better. Legacy Media cannot stand that her refusal to bend the knee is only making her more popular.

I will say, if you want to watch someone who not only spits in the face of his comrades but covers the stories his way instead of their watch anything Lawrence O'Donnell does. His shows on abortion alone are outstanding!
