2024-25 Season Discussion, Recruits, Thoughts, Etc.

...to win a Championship.

I was about to say a 10 year SUNYAC drought and soon to be 5 year tourney drought is nothing to be happy about including 4 SUNYAC finals losses in a row (should've been 5 but u know the worst call since the last bagel throw happened)

I still have no idea why that was called off.

He isn’t the first or last player to play for 3 programs or play at 26.

Couldn't care less. Utica continues to rent grad students at the expense of building a sustainable culture and I suspect they will see similar results this season.

To be fair, if I had worn out my welcome and/or basically aged out of my current team and my choices were to go play in the Fed or play one more season of NCAA hockey at Utica, I'd choose Utica.

You seem to care a lot. You would be singing a different tune if they went to your school, I’m sure.

I’m sure Salve was dying to get rid of their Captain that put up 62 pts in 50 games the past 2 years. Thats an ECHL resume.

It is okay to admit you don’t know what you are talking about.

Good luck this season!

I suspect Salve discourages players from hanging around beyond graduation. Even captains.

You would suspect wrong considering they have multiple grad students on the roster this year, and one of their captains last year was a 5th year.

Gotcha, I stand corrected. Without digging too deep, it looks like the only grad student on their roster last season was the kid that just transferred to Utica, presumably to play D1.

They had two 5th year players on the roster last year. One spent 3 years at Plattsburgh and 2 at Salve. The other spent 2 at Quinnipiac, 2 at Maine, and 1 at Salve.

Saw a post that Ayo Adeniye ('24) of Adrian College will participate in the Washington Capitals training camp that opens this week. Any other D-III players at NHL camps this week?

A few year back Oswego's Waterstreet 6'5" 230 lbs was at the Caps camp,I guess they like the BIG bodies, best of luck to him..

Roster is posted for Plattsburgh State.

They welcome Nick Recupero on defense.

Forwards are Brody Spencer Ha, William Jasmin, Tyler Ramm, Patrick Cole, Shane Bondy, Blake Hall and Jake Sacranti.

Posted this on the women's forum yesterday, but I suspected something like this was maybe coming: DIII Hockey News has their own group of voters to now rival USCHO. Similar to D3hockey back in the day, it appears that schools will most likely honor both rankings now.

After releasing their preseason women's poll yesterday, the men's is out today on Twitter and Instagram.

1. Hobart
2. Adrian
3. Trinity
4. Utica
5. St. Norbert
6. UW-Stevens Point
7. Curry
8. Geneseo
9. Plattsburgh
10. Elmira
11. Plymouth State
12. Skidmore
13. Endicott
14. Cortland
15. UW-Eau Claire

Next teams out are
Augsburg
Bethel
Trine
Oswego
St. Olaf
Stevenson
UNE
Hamilton
Salve Regina
UW-River Falls

Polls don't matter at all.

The PW and the silly AQ's matter, period.

(And the AQ's remain illogical, half the time.)
