2024-25 Schedules

so if I am looking at this right, Whiteout weekend will be the 15th and 16th of Nov 2024 in The Campus Center,Oswego NY....As Da Bears are coming in on the 16th...

Correct. Potsdam and Plattsburgh are still travel partners in the "new" SUNYAC. Make your hotel reservations!

While not pairing Potsdam and Canton despite them being 12 miles apart feels weird, it definitely makes a lot more sense to pair Canton/Oswego and Cortland/Morrisville when you consider that a Canton/Potsdam pairing results in Plattsburgh pairing with either Morrisville or Oswego, both of whom are about 4hr away.

Exactly. Bob Emery was the one who came up with this solution back when there originally was talk about Canton joining the SUNYAC.

UNE's schedule has the Nor'easter's traveling to Plattsburgh state for the Comfort Inn Winter Classic in Jan. Looks like Wilkes (Pa) will play also. fourth team still TBA. Significantly better than last years teams, no offense to Albertus/Rivier/Naz. But UNE/Wilkes/Mystery Team is already looking like a stronger field than before.

I heard in a couple places that the 4th team in the Comfort Inn Winter Classic is Wentworth.

If this is true it, Wentworth, I believe, would be a better addition. Nazareth at the time of the tournament had 1 win and finished 6-18-2. Rivier had 6 wins at that time and finished 10-12-3. While Albertus had the best record of 9-5 by Jan., and finished 16-9.

The new field features UNE who would have been 8-3-1 at the time, ranked 13th, and finished 17-6-4. Wilkes would have been 9-4 and finishing 18-9. If Wentworth is the 4th team, last year they would have been 5-7, but with a win against #11 Curry and losing to #12 Endicott and #15 Salve just before winter break. They finished 10-15-1.

In a Power Index world, strength of schedule is important. I would personally take these three new teams over last years 'cupcake' teams. Again, no disrespect intended. I think it's great that you want to win your home tournament, but strength of schedule matters. When Platty lost the title game to Cortland, you could watch them slipping out of that NCAA Tournament bubble. Elmira bid into the tournament with 7 L's, Plattsburgh had 5. Strength of schedule is IMPORTANT.

Sorry for the long TedTalk.

I wonder if all the 2025-2026 realignment put a huge roadblock for a lot of scheduling agreements and teams are looking for some 1 year stopgaps. Most of the NEHC/UCHC news has been after the season ended 2 months isnt a lot of time to keep up with all the changes (also kinda sucks they couldnt get a western team for the NC tourney)

Canton plays Oswego three times?

Potsdam is playing Fredonia four times. They are not all conference games. Obviously, the need to grab nonconference games in less than a year's notice with two conference teams leaving and only being replaced by one was difficult. So, they could only look at other SUNYAC teams to fill in the schedule.

Have they ever gotten a western team for that tournament?
