2023 World Juniors

Every time someone mentions mariuccis Olympic size ice I think of the Cornell coach. That year of thr all wcha frozen four-he could not stop whining about having to play on the big ice sheet

That's funny because I follow Cornell hockey all year round and what I remember is one statement and then a million westerners wailing like scalded babies.

Isn't memory funny?

Great comeback, great overtime. We had several great chances. Beautiful winning goal by Canada.

Until next year.

I don't care about your Minny/Cornell fight, I juts want to ban the benches being on opposite sides.

RIT did this in their new building.

So did Notre Dame. Wasn’t an homage to the Joyce Center or anything, so must’ve been related to locker room placement. Or they really wanted the penalty box advantage.

Munn actually flipped the benches this year because of renovations that flipped the home locker room to the other side of the arena. Because of the tunnel placement and to keep the penalty box advantage, they had to take away a couple rows of seats for a walkway behind the penalty box that leads to the bench. A little wonky and I don’t think any other arena has it so that the tunnel doesn’t lead directly to the ice.

So did Notre Dame, Omaha, and a few others I think.

I wonder what Sacred Heart's new building did?

BTW, D3 also. Oswego's new building (which is as good as many D1 buildings, amazing facility) put the benches on opposite sides. Though I do wonder if that really is due to locker room placement. They only have two locker rooms on the home bench side, obviously, one for the men's team and one for the women's team, because they also have offices on that side. So, the visitor lockers had to be on the opposite side.
