2023 ECAC Grand Unified Thread

Congrats to Cornell. I'm a Quinnipiac fan so I can't say I'm a fan of your coach, but I'm a huge admirer of your program and what you've built there. Lynah is a treasure and one of the best rinks in college hockey. Cornell-BU is going to be a great regional final.

Great to see Cornell make such a big statement after the way our league was treated this year.

I admire QU and their success, but nobody in Central NY likes you coach much either! It's what makes a rivalry fun! Cage match?

Let's go, Harvard. Pick it up. Harvard looks very tentative. That's not the team that beat the pants off us twice this year. Being outshot 13-3. Give me a break. I hope Harvard shows up in the second period.

Geez, Harvard is lucky to be down only 2-0 after that 1st period. They look more lethargic than Denver did yesterday.

Maybe the Big Ten is just that good. And I hate to say that because I consider myself an ECAC guy.

It wasn't till after I filled out my bracket that I realized I had three Big 10 teams in the Frozen Four. And the one non-B1G team is already out -- Denver.

The Big Ten is certainly good, but from what I heard, Ohio State is boom or bust. They can beat any team in the country one night and lose to any team in the country the next night.

Really disappointing showing from Harvard.

…Sooo, that leaves me with Colgate. I have somewhat off an axe to grind with them because they dumped their horrific former AD upon Yale. Vicky has basically ignored the Yale Mens hockey program and although there have been a myriad of other issues involving said program, I have to say Go Gate

If it’s any consolation, Colgate recently dumped it’s second questionable former AD upon Cornell. AD Chun actually did a reputable job here for many years, but finished less than strong IMO.

Ohio State was 5-6-2 in their last 13, Harvard had beaten Cornell 3 times this season, and Cornell beat Denver. We had every reason to be optimistic. I have seen Harvard at Bright a few times this season, and there was a tendency to use the first period as a warm-up period. You just cannot get away with that in an NCAA tournament. Harvard was consistently beaten to the puck. In the tournament, once your opponent gets a lead and smells blood, it's over.

Wow, Harvard…so much for the lofty draft picks. The Crimson certainly slumped into the postseason. Now, even a potentially bad game by Colgate will look somewhat respectable. Hang tough, Colgate.

Attendance figures? Looked low in Bridgeport.

Ohio State was 5-6-2 in their last 13 because it was all against Big Ten competition. Big Ten decidedly better than NCHC this season.

We're glad to have her. Just completed record-breaking athletic department funding on Cornell Giving Day. Good showings in wrestling, squash, swimming (5 new Cornell records), Men's Polo, Men's Basketball,

They listed 4,500 in Bridgeport. It felt bigger than that -- the place wasn't packed by any stretch, but it was more than half full.

Congrats to Cornell and Quinnipiac for their wins in round 1. We're all rooting for you in round 2.
Interesting that the two teams that didn't make it to the ECAC finals are now the remaining representatives of the league.
