2022 NCAA Tournament

Oh and I made a general statement that all conferences have wins and losses, no one is immune. Psst all conferences would include the NEHC.

So let me get this straight, you think you win this discussion by limiting the data fields? Oh so you mean you cherry pick the data that supports your weak argument. I showed that the UCHC was in fact weaker than the NCHA in my stats, never disputed that. I brought up the NEHC because they are my conference and show that the West is not as dominate as you would suggest.

4 games over .500 is not bad??? Wow you never took a stats class did you? Besides what does interconference play have to do with anything. I was talking about simple records, win and losses, not the most convenient sub-set to support my argument.

So we will go with the West is not the juggernaut you suggest as has been proven vs the NEHC's record. And I will take this win.

Thank you and have a nice day.

Where have I stated the west is a juggernaut? Can you please quote reply where I said this?

I seriously wonder if YOU have taken a stats class. By eliminating conference play you take out results that are exactly .500. Those are the same for everyone.

Being above .500 is not "bad" by any statistical measure. Above .500 is above the mean.

In 2021-22, the NEHC is a very good league. The NCHA is a slightly above-average league. The UCHC is a below-average league.

Nobody EVER said that, let alone me. It's as clear as day that the UCHC is the 2nd-worst conference in all of D-3. Try to keep up.

Your "My daddy can beat-up your daddy" BS is incredibly adolescent, and doesn't lend a scintilla of interest to this thread. It's all "nyah, nyah, nyah".

I've been on USCHO for 25+ years, and I have truly never seen such a consistent stream of drivel before.

Have a good night.

Oh, so you were on this website before it existed? Understood.

You should also try to stop posting profane rants and then go back and edit them after they have been quote replied. It's not a good look, Steve (FWIW, I wouldn't go by Howie either). Nor is ignoring the original question about what backs your claim that quantifies Utica as a "perennial national power." Still waiting for an answer on that.

Overall conference records within your conference is going to be .500. No matter what. So, the only thing you can compare is a conference's record outside their conference.

Limiting the data set never provides a true representation of what has happened.

Oh and Nubs is right Utica has only been a power team the last two real seasons. I am throwing out lat years Covid season. Utica we also rans four years ago and further back.

If you can't figure out that conference results - which totally negate each other - should be omitted then you are beyond understanding any further explanation.

Utica seems the lightning rod du jour, looking over their season, did they really get play 20 games at home?

16 Regular Season games with 3 playoffs and an exhibition. They didn't make a non-conference trip this year, everybody came to Utica and the Oswego game never happened unfortunately

Yet no matter how many time every one of you say it not one of you has shown an actual mathematical break down of this "conference games mean nothing". Because I said so is not proof.

So I will sit here and continue to be right, limiting the data sets gives false outputs. Lesson two in math class.

Nobody has said they mean nothing. They have said they are a statistical wash. As Mr. Jaslow said, math is hard for some.

We do not like the fact that a team from the East, either Hobert or Elmira has to travel out west for a quarterfinal game. Ever since the NCAA allowed Adrian to have this geographic location then Adrian should be playing a western team. I know all to well about the 500 mile rule. It is not fair to these teams in the East.
The winner of St Olaf and St Norbert travel to Augsburg. That winner goes to Placid. Those are all western teams. All these teams deserve to be in the playoffs but this is an unfair advantage. I believe the committees and the NCAA need to correct this. I would appreciate any follow up

What in the world are you talking about. The NCAA has to approve where a school is located? What?

There are no regions in any sport anymore when it comes to NCAA matchups. This is not like the old days. There is no east or west anymore. Only the mileage limit.

To be honest and blunt, I think your whole paragraph is BS.

.500

There’s your mathematical breakdown. If you still can’t figure it out, you’re the dumbest person in the history of the human race.

Actually, before USCHO, there was this pre-historic construct called a ListServ to which some of us dinosaurs subscribed. It functioned as a quasi message board, albeit via email. Some of those discussions were frankly Hall of Fame quality and provided entertainment before the internet existed.
