2022 - 2023 Season BOSTON COLLEGE

Hopefully they can beat UNH Sunday because UConn looks like the real deal so far beating BU tonight 4-3

Good win and happy to see some offense finally which has been dormant for a long time

Hope Gauthier stays awhile but not likely according to some people

next year’s recruiting class is highly rated so there’s more coming if Gauthier leaves

hopefully BC finds a goalie as Benson is just a temporary being a grad transfer

As I understand it this is the last year of transfers allowed

on to Hartford Thursday and hopefully they can grind out another W

XL always a good venue to view a game and you can still see the Whalers banners hanging

I got it from one of the dads of a player on the team

we were just chatting upstairs during intermission between periods

I have no reason to not believe it since players and people around the team probably have more access to information regarding college hockey

One time transfers are and will continue to be allowed. There will be designated time period after the season to enter the portal. A little more structure, but sill allowable.

Go Eagles!

Tough loss @ the XL and glad the drive home wasn't too long

It was a winnable game

BC could not take advantage of all the PPs they got in the 2nd and even had a 5 x 3 for awhile

Sometimes they try to get too cute with the puck and end up turning it over. These turnovers led to goals and the breakaway was not paying attention to the man coming out of the UConn penalty box

BC needs to learn to shoot the puck and score

They have this habit of holding puck too long before shooting or making unnecessary passes when the puck handler has the prime shooting opportunity

No puck luck

Well I knew it was going to be a tough year but glad to hear Brown and co can still recruit. Nice pick up in landing Gabe Perrault today

" BREAKING: 5 Star recruit Gabe Perreault has committed to Boston College. This is the one we were waiting on as Perreault was the highest ranked uncommitted skater at #15 in the entire North American 2005 class. The U18 NTDP forward has 25 points in just 14 games this season."

"Next year’s class is, on paper, probably the best BC has had in 20 plus years. Obv close contenders are 2018, 2015, and 2013, but three first rounders and three projected 2-5 rounders is pretty good!"

OOC, does anyone expect any flight risks for next season. I mean Gauthier has shared that he plans on spending only 1 year (heard in some interview), but any upperclassmen? Nesteranko or Ambrosio? Just curious with many incoming freshmen and not too many seniors.

At forward they have Burke, O'Neill, Izyk and the assumption is Gauthier leaves.

Replaced with the USNTDP four: Smith, Perreault, Leonard and Vote

Losing Warren and Andres on defense and replaced with Minnetian and Fortescue.

In goal, Jan Korec most likely replacement for Benson.

This is getting old

Typical BC loss

not enough shots on goal, defensive breakdowns and dumb penalties especially Kuntar resorting to his old self

same old same old BC

Let's hope they rebound Saturday

PP is dismal 1 for 7 is mediocre

Merrimack looked really good. BC looked like crap. Did not wake up at all that third period. You think you’d play with a little fight only down 1 goal.

It's a long season and there's room to improve from game to game

BUT it is frustrating watching BC play mediocre hockey when there's talent on the team

Teams like MC don't have the resources and recruits like BC but they play hard and smart for what they do have and 100% effort

This lack of urgency and costly mistakes lead to losing hockey

We'll see if this is a .500 team or not

5 minute major for face washing ????

Kuntar as an upper classman should be setting a good example and not take dumb penalties

BC at times gets too careless with the puck

They don't have the talent to be nonchalant on the ice and recover from mistakes

Geez guys
didnt the Mack beat UMass last weekend or so?

You do realize this is a BC thread, not a BU thread where you belong.

BC fans do have a right to critique their program like BU fans can comment on BU's hockey team whether positive or negative.

No one is disrespecting MC except you would love to stir things up. Comment in your own thread on your own team, not ours.

Ya I always had it in mind that splitting with Merrimack is not a bad result. With that said, BC played much better against UConn. Will be interesting to see if Merrimack can keep this up. Bored is doing a good job.

Eagle, are you really bothered by comments from other fans ? Nice to know that they are interested and lurking. That said BC did not control the play last night MC did. BC had very few clear entries into the Ozone, a couple of undisciplined penalties and more than a few defensive breakdowns. BC was really running around in the third period and they were lucky it was not 5-1. I think the Freshmen are learning that this is a tough competitive league, have to be ready to play every night. Expecting a better result tomorrow. As a general comment is anyone else bothered by the post goal celebrations, it seems to be a part of every players' routine. I prefer the player who acts like they have done it before rather than as if they scored the GWG for the gold medal. Nice goal, raise the stick and do a fist bump and move on.
