2021 Frozen Four: UMD, UMASS, SCSU & MSUM.

Agree with that. But even if a #4 seed (or #16 for that matter) made it this far, so what if they got hot or lucky? In the tournament, it's win and advance. The best team over the course of a full season can lose to the better team on that night.

Just saying it’s one thing if they got hot/lucky, it’s still a championship but there’s the doubt they are the best team. Shouldn’t be the case this year with the four that are left.

UMass loses leading goal scorer and starting goaltender to covid protocols, as well as two other players. Too bad. Affected players might be available for final if they somehow beat UMD.

The best team doesn't always win. On any given night, the better team usually wins.

Duluth is IMO the best team of the four. But that doesn't mean they will be better than UMass tonight.

Barry Melrose, why does ESPN put him on theses broadcasts? Buccigross is pretty good, Barry can’t even be bothered to learn names.

What an ending- MSU was putting some solid pressure on, but SCSU just shot the puck, and got the tip with less than a min left.

Wow. Heck of a game.

OK. I would think that the U Mass and Duluth should have to forfeit today's game. (Duluth lost their backup goalie to Covid.) St. Lawrence was disqualified because the coach tested positive a week before the regionals. Why are the$e two team$ allowed to play in the $emi?

Ah, yes. Because of all that money that college hockey makes to sustain that level of bribery…

What’s crazy is this isn't the most talented team SCSU has brought in their lasts four NCAA appearances and then they lose Brodzinski... yet it might be the best team.

I have to admit, I am glad that the teams that didn’t have a first round opponent didn’t win it all simply for the sake of how it would have looked and how it would have somewhat tainted the tourney.

UMD fans were awesome in Buffalo. Very friendly and fun to hang out with. Nothing but respect for that program and fanbase. Here’s hoping there’s a rematch in Boston.

Went to bed after the 2nd, and it looked like UMD would really take it- UMass could not put the puck on their sticks when they had great chances. and the momentum looked to be changing. So it was really unexpected to see UMass tie it half way through the 3rd, and then win it in OT. Good for you guys!

Saturday's game should be fun since someone will win their first.

Happens a lot in this tournament. St. Cloud and Mankato had the battle scars from previous experiences. When you consistently make the tournament you'll eventually break through to the FF and now in SCSUs case, their first title game.

There's no question these are two very deserving teams. Not a fluke or lucky, etc.

It kinda bugged me that Barry Melrose and the other commentators kept saying that UMass was playing without their starting goalie due to Covid protocols. Lindberg and Murray have been 1A and 1B for the last 3 years. Lindberg played ONE game more than Murray before yesterday.

Lindberg’s numbers are better this season, but I’d go with Murray tomorrow - he won last night’s game. It’s Lindberg’s team next season.
