If we're to go back 150 years to right the wrongs of the past, are we going to give money to the descendants of probably 1M or more children who grew up without fathers who died fighting to end slavery in the Civil War (I'm basing this on 300K+ union deaths and people having relatively large families back then)? I can't imagine it was easy being in that situation especially in the 1860's. Seems hypocritical to compensate one group and not the other. You'd also have to really nail down the genealogy on this as well.
