Meh...not necessarily. If there's one thing Chump does, its driving turnout. Unfortunately for the idiot, he's been driving Dem turnout higher than Nazi turnout over the last couple of years.

For whatever reason which we need not rehash our opinions on, Democrats did not turn out in force in 2016. Now with 3 years of the horror of the Chump administration under our belts, which has been as bad or worse than anybody imagined, its going to be really hard for Vlady and the boys in the Russian intelligence services to drive down turnout. Even with Zombie Joe and his Undead Campaign.

Biden has as good a chance of winning as anybody.What he loses in the opportunity to grow the party he gains back in even higher turnout by the current party. Compare this with Dump, who maximizes Nazi turnout but imposes a hard cap on Nazi growth. We know Biden can win because Dump won.

An ideal candidate would both turn out more currents and grow the party, but that doesn't appear to be in the cards.

Blacks are 10% of the electorate and so 20% of the Democratic electorate. 50% (60%-10%) x 20% = 10%.

This would be heresy for Kos or academia or on the campaign trail and I'll deny I ever said it, but... blacks are not that important.

This large field though is beyond problematic now. That is what is keeping Biden in this. He is playing the Trump book to a T (ya know, minus being a fascist ********) kind of staying out of the fray and standing on his name. Everyone else is fighting each other and paying for their missteps and he just kind of moves at an even keel and that seems to be working. If the field doesnt consolidate soon it might be too late.

I dont want to have to begrudgingly support the candidate again. I will do it but good lord what is wrong with people if that clown is who they think is the best of the bunch. He isnt even the best Centrist in the field let alone the best Democrat.

He's benefitting from the "return to normalcy" reflex as well as nobody else capturing the African American vote. Also his firewall of South Carolina is still intact, as well as he's probably no worse than an even bet to win Nevada. If he goes into Super Tuesday with the most delegates he's the front runner. Remember, zombies are tough to kill.

"Fixed" clearly overstates it. Certainly biases do operate, and sometimes there is systemic bias to favor (or oppose) a particular candidate. It's the equivalent of the GOP voter purges: it doesn't predetermine the result but it changes the playing field.

However, we are blessed right now in having a field that is relatively favorite-less. The grassroots has a couple reformers favorites, the money is trying to stop them. That sort of thing has been happening in politics since it was invented. We should work towards transparency to prevent outright institutional fraud, but we should also not fixate on the flaws in our sausage maker for fear of turning the public off the tainted meat.

I guess the ideal is a Chester Arthur. Use the corrupt system to get power, then turn around and use that power to root out and destroy the corruption. Take the bribes and prosecute the bribers.

Senator Elizabeth Warren wants new taxes on wealth. Senator Bernie Sanders wants Medicare for All. Senator Cory Booker wants guaranteed jobs.

Jeff Mackler wants the elimination of the military budget, the nationalization of the energy and banking industries, open borders, the creation of a state-run health-care system, and the end of capitalism in the United States.

He is talking about the people who talk more like trix or ticap (though trix and ticap are much milder than these clowns) the ones who claim conspiracy or automatically burn to the ground any candidate who jumps a point ahead of Bernie in the polls. (The Twitter Caucus) He isnt talking about me and you who like Bernie a lot but will flip on a dime to whoever wins and not spend the next 8 months crying about how things are rigged or are unfair. We arent Bernbots because we do this moron thing called "Thinking".

I know they are angrier than we about the systemic bias against real change in the party apparatus. Really, they ought to be -- the reason we aren't is we have caught the Olds and now we're cautious and pragmatic. trix and ticap still have some blood in their veins and they're morally offended by what happens in politics. God bless that -- without them we'd all wind up apparatchiks.

But once the nomination is set I don't know anybody who won't be 100% loyal blue to destroy Dump and the Bund Deutscher Arbeiterjugend. Every one of us wants every last Nazi out of office and up on charges.

I dont know that they wont (remember I said they were "milder" ) but there are plenty that will walk away if they dont get what they want. I know you dont like to believe that (and I admire your trust in that) but it happens every cycle. They wont "sell out" for the greater good its their way or the highway. And even if they do, they will spend every day until the convention telling us how unfair it was and how Biden rigged it just like they did with Hillary. They arent about unifying, they are about dividing.

Now this is where you tell us "that is a small percentage" but right now a small percentage is enough to swing things.

I hope you are right I really do...but I doubt it. They hold purity of belief too high. Again though I hope like hell I am wrong.
