Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers Vi: The Undiscovered Country

If half of the customers in a store left without buying anything would we say they were apathetic or would we say the store was not offering the right products?

Not a very useful analogy unless you somehow include the element of social responsibility. We are voting ("buying"), in large part, for the benefit of others. If we don't buy, goods will be sold anyway, but possibly only those or only at a price that harms those others you have a responsibility to protect.

NY Times...wrong.

edit: Proof:

They arent even hiding they are pulling crap out of their butt. They threw Clinton in to try and cover their butts for what they did to her in 2016.

Check this out! The Washington Post, which apparently we're supposed to trust, gets into the "Dems in Disarray" act. You might think it was the Dem incumbent facing impeachment and a majority of the country that wants him tried and convicted.

For the millionth time fellow libs/lefties/corporate sellout Dems/etc - the media IS NOT your friend or ally. Any of them.

So, Democratic voters are expressing concern about the election prospects in 2020, the WaPo publishes a story about it, but you're suggesting your fellow Dems ignore it, nothing to see here, move along? :p

Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers Vi: The Undiscovered Country

Therefore there IS NO difference between D and R?? :)

Sigh.

If a liquor store sells Vodka and Rum but no Whiskey, and the customers who want Whiskey leave without buying anything, does that mean Vodka = Rum?

The Whiskey is a substantive and significant Left. It is not sold in the store because the company that owns the store doesn't believe in it and cares more about that than about maximizing sales.

Offer. Whiskey.

If you need liquor.....
and your only options are vodka or rum.....

Unless you are Jesus, you need to choice between the two :)

Just sayin' that store could have a lot more customers, if it really wanted them.

What was that beer commercial from 70s or 80s with the guy in the desert who happened upon a dude with water, but declined cause he really wanted a schulitz or something

Why

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">“Biden has seen big spikes in support among moderate and conservative Democrats (43% up from 29% in September), racial and ethnic minorities (28% among all nonwhites to 42% now) and older voters (up 13 points since September among those 45 and older)” <a href="https://t.co/Tbq7RYMOY8">https://t.co/Tbq7RYMOY8</a></p>— Rachel Cohen (@rmc031) <a href="https://twitter.com/rmc031/status/1186968198295543809?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">October 23, 2019</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers Vi: The Undiscovered Country

Amicability. In the race for who people are really comfortable with on a human level, it's down to Uncle Joe and Mayor Pete.
It's important to remember than insofar as who is elected president, it doesn't matter at all who is smartest, who has the ideas most likely to affect positive change, who has been the most successful, etc. Look at every election ever: who do the voters like, as people? They vote for someone who is gregarious, pretends to be down to earth, pretends to respect everyone, and so on. It's simply a popularity contest, no more.
IMO it's more important to get Trump out of office than to get (your) "best" possible candidate nominated.

No, if you read the story 17 Democratic insiders (cue dramatic music) are concerned about the Dem nominees. From the polling I've seen Dem primary voters are happy with the choices they have. So, its another BS meme from the Beltway media.

Here's some quotes:

"Those close to Clinton, speaking on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to comment on her behalf"

"Oprah Winfrey, an early backer of Barack Obama who was initially enthusiastic about former Texas congressman Beto O’Rourke, has repeatedly begged Disney chief executive Bob Iger to jump into the race" - Well, if you lose the Oprah vote, I guess we really are screwed! How does sh it like this even end up in a reputable paper?

In more w t f news, Hillary on her book tour is edging ever-closer to formally announcing a run. (Has nobody told her yet?) Hopefully she just enjoys the coffee-shop adoration and will clear this up soon.

I'd add that every time Chump pulls a nutty it benefits Biden as the safe, calm, familiar choice in the race. Lots of people would like to go back to a time where domestic policy wasn't conducted via twitter and foreign policy by Russia by way of a loon like Rudy Giuliani. Just accomplishing that as opposed to ushering in a new era of democratic socialism is enough for some people, which might help explain Uncle Joe's somewhat surprising staying power despite running a C minus campaign so far.

Yeah, I'm sure that'll happen any day now.

Sure, if you want to see another Trump 4-8 years from now this is a great strategy.

That all really does just sound like gossipy gibberish. Maybe it's the NYT (or was it WaPo?) that is trying to become Tiger Beat on the Potomac.

Stop letting feature writers cover campaigns. They are the ones who deliver goo like this. They are the courtiers in Corporate Court Society and this is boar on the floor.

No. This is silly.

Lets look at the timeline here...

Career diplomat just confirms all of the criminal accusations regarding Chump holding up aide to the Ukraine to benefit his re-election campaign....then that same day anonymous sources start leaking that Hillary is about to jump in 2020 race....which is then picked up by the Beltway media to distract from impeachment coverage...

Hmmm...who COULD those anonymous sources be? ;)
