Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers V: Bye Felicia

I've been watching him every week for 20 years across his shows; have you? Maybe if you stopped making inane assumptions about other people you wouldn't make such a fool of yourself.

I'm not saying he's not a liberal -- my whole point is he is. I'm saying that he is a liberal, and he does want liberal policies, but he is too afraid to go for it now that it's here.

He's Nancy Pelosi with better t-ts.

I'm going to start by saying Warren is probably my preferred candidate. However, I think Trump is the only reason she would even have the chance in the general. Up against a different Republican candidate (say a Mitt Romney) she would get destroyed.

Her policies poll well in the ~35% of Americans that identify as Democrat, not so much across the whole electorate. The majority of Democrats support Medicare for all, the majority of voters do not.

“But they’re gonna take 80% of my income!!!!”

Kochs have been pumping them full of that for 40 years, I'm not surprised.

I'd be willing to bet at least half of our conservative posters on the Forum do not understand how marginal rates work.

That's not a bug for the Plutes. It's a feature. Built-in ignorance -- no wonder they hate education.

You guys need to stop equating a Dem primary with a blood feud. If the Dem electorate isn't as left as my preferred candidate (Warren) then so be it. Whoever we get in that case (I'd say Biden/Harris/Buttigieg aren't quite as liberal as her) will be aligned with Lizzy on like 95% of policy anyway and that's good enough for me.

All this socialist revolution is good but it needs to win, not just fight the good fight and stay pure to its principles. If you aren't elected you're SOL.

Nobody said any different but thank you for your concern.

As of today the optimal (winning) Dem candidate is likely the midpoint between you and I. Happily, Warren occupies that exact spot. So you lose Biden and I lose Adorno and we settle for a woman who will regulate Wall Street but not abolish it.

I think his ideas on most things are very similar to mine. He seems pretty f-cked up on #metoo, though. Enough that I assume he's eventually going to get popped.

But his schtick is speaking the unacknowledged truth in the room. He does understand for instance that there is no way to negotiate with the Nazis. They're insane and they're not going to help. The only way to work with them is to pare down their numbers to where they're easy to scoop up and shunt through the exhaust vent.

But he's old so he still lives in 1980s America where you have to pretend to believe in Reagan's rhetoric because all the voters do. That's not true anymore -- the only people who believe government is a bigger threat than the rich after the last 40 years of evidence are irredeemably brainwashed Republicans. So we don't have to pay any attenion to that claptrap anymore.

The bad thing about all the dummies being on the Right now is there are a lot of them.

The good thing about all the dummies being on the Right now is we don't have to pretend to be dummies any more to appease them.

He would have been popped already. He doesnt strike me as a creep he strikes me as an a-hole. I think his #metoo stuff is more in vain of how Chappelle feels about it.

Follow up to that...have you met United States Citizens? :p

The question is how smart the 45th percentile voter is.

The bottom third all go R; forget them. There is no point in even acknowledging their existence because we cannot compete for them -- Dump is their Lord and savior.

The 50th is too high for where we need to aim because with 50% we lose, the cheaters have seen to that. But if we can tunnel down to the 45%er that gives us 55-45, a 10-point cushion, enough to withstand Jim Crow II and the Russians, albeit not full bore electoral fraud.

So, how smart is the 45th percentile voter?

Probably not quite smart enough for actual socialism yet so, whoopy sh-t, rename it.

Don't like poco wasting the 2%'ers with expanded Socsec

Just expand the taxable base on the 7% fica rate to 300k in earnings. Maybe 500k.

Use the 2% for other stuff as you bust their nut.

2016 proved that most Americans still dont know what Socialism is and that the word still scares the Bejesus out of them.

Haven’t you heard how miserable Scandinavians are?? Not being in debt and getting medical care sure is harmful.

Take it all at once. If you only move it up you are tacitly ceding there is a reason to cap it. Uncap it and you are consistent.

Can sheer a sheep many times. Slaughter it only once.

And bump now to shore up. Can expand later when unlimited.

This of course only works if you do the mookie and tax income only over 200k. Rich folks do spend to support the economy. Unleash the working middle class to support the economy now.
