Not shocking after her AIPAC stunt

Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers III: The Wrath of Warren

Well YOU can say that...if I say it no one would believe me cause no one thinks you are THAT nuts ;) :D :p

I gotta say, it would be funny if like a true blue, 100% pure Socialist ran to see what would happen with Bernie's crew. I mean obviously some would stay pure but I wonder how many would walk away in the face of pure Socialism. Would Bernie be branded "A Centrist Gun Loving Corpratist Shill"

I would love a sincere Socialist to run in every Dem field. Not just because I think there is merit in many Socialist positions, but it would really bring home how tame Democrats are compared to a true Left in other democracies.

Righties might say the same thing about a true Fascist, but I don't think there would be much daylight.

I would also like the American Socialist parties to close up shop and start working to influence the Dems as Dems. I am convinced much of the Democrats' problems with not getting their voters to the polls is because they don't generate any excitement among the true left which, as in every other country, exists in the US.

Right now I am:

1. Warren
2. Harris
3. I can't pick.

Me too. If Castro can bring it like he did last night then I could be convinced. Booker and Inslee are probably my other top 5 as of now. Pete's great but he's not a president yet. If he can win statewide in IN as Senator or Governor then we can definitely talk.

As someone who has not only lived but worked in a few single payer systems- I want private as an option no matter what.
Now if she’s saying only private and no public option then I’m annoyed

She's not. Everyone was onboard with what was called the "public option" when Obamacare was working through to a vote. Unfortunately the public option was pulled out of Obamacare cause the Republicans knew if it was in there everyone would eventually end up in the public option and we'd already have single payer today.

So, as long as that is in there we're well on our way to single payer. Cause, the greedy shareholder economy ****s don't just want to make a profit. And since profit isn't enough for them they will bow out when the less overhead Medicare System starts competing directly with them.

Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers III: The Wrath of Warren

Private healthcare still exists in single payer systems, it's just mostly relegated to secondary care and cosmetic stuff for the most part. And there's a reason OECD nations mostly have single payer systems, better health outcomes, and significantly lower drug costs (than us).

I wouldn't be opposed to a public option if it was well-funded and ultimately destroyed private insurance but I'd rather just do that at the outset if possible or at least start there as a negotiation tactic and settle for the public option if necessary.

Yes, we're on the same page. Just be nice if people were smart enough to know that the Republicans have destroyed Obamacare's progression at every step and NEVER offered a single viable alternative to any of it.

the two 10 person debates were fine for the first pass

I have no interest in trying to get anyone else, who did not make the cut this time, into the next debate.

Never forget Bobby announced less than 8 months before the general.... :)

First off I agree, and 2nd man do I live rent free in all of your heads! I've been balls to the wall at work for the last few days and haven't had time to post...and people are STILL bringing me up!

For the record I don't bring you up unless you're here already.

Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers III: The Wrath of Warren

There is no-one in either party with the moral courage of Bobby Kennedy.

Though it is possible that Bernie (b. 41) also nailed Marilyn (d. 62) .

Heck, Gravel's only 5 years younger than Bobby. Think about that. Mike Gravel was eligible to run for president in 1968. Pete Buttigieg wasn't born until 1982.
