Re: 2020 Democrat Challengers Part II: There Can Be Only One

I guess I really don't care to answer whatever question you think you might have. Sorry. My question garnered a lot of discussion so I guess it was worth it.

The question was what does your latest whining fest have to do with his running for President? And it didn't happen in the way you think it did. Thanks

Aaah, yes, the whine narrative. Blow me.

Since no one cares about my thoughts on the candidates I guess I will just refrain from commenting then. Thanks.

What does this have to do with him trying to win an election?

I think it all has to do with getting elected. There are parts of the Democratic Party (myself for one) that will not vote for Joe in the primary because of this stupidity. He gets my vote for President over Trump but that, as we saw in 2016, may not be enough to get everyone out. I see a percentage of the progressives staying home if he or Gillibrand gets the nomination.

Then let them get fuked! I'm not sure why this isn't getting through the thick skulls of some people. Its convenient to say if the nominee isn't liberal enough you won't vote. The problem is who is "liberal enough" is in the eye of the beholder. Kep for example said Mike Dukakis was a centrist nominee. :D :D :D The point is, if Bernie doesn't win, trix is going to label ANY nominee, be it Warren, Harris, Buttigieg, etc - as a closet conservative. Heck, just today it came out that Warren has done legal work for...(gasp) Big Corporations. There's no way to logically appeal to someone like that.

I can't imagine a single liberal staying home in this election. We aren't monolithic but we will do anything to flush Dump back to his sewer and the only thing we can do is vote for the D nominee.

The only "danger" of Biden is he doesn't motivate the rather large floating trash island of casual Dem voters who drift around in the currents and sometimes fail to make landfall at election time. His avuncular, undemanding familiarity is a familiarity with a regime which, even when led by Dems, does little for Ordinary People. He is the opposite of a Movement Candidate. In other words he may not draw in anybody new, and we always need to be growing.

Depends on whether or not you think Susan Sarandon is liberal.

Dump should lose regardless. He's bleeding all the independents and Democrats he got or may have had.

Susan Sarandon is a brainless celebrity. She's the opposite of human, let alone liberal.

I don't agree that Dump "should lose." Dump is about 50/50 once you factor in average intelligence and dirty tricks.

But even if you are right: we're going to need to win 60/40 to sweep the branches. Every single extra voter is vital. This is the last chance to save democracy without civil insurrection. I want a ton of insurance runs.

I've literally said I'd support Warren you imbecile. I get that your entire schtick against progressives is strawman arguments but holy **** is this post dumb.

So next Summer, should the D's just start running ads saying "Here's what happened under R... Vote for D. D may not be "your guy" but we're "your party" and our values are closer to you than what R offers..."?

Show that the bigger evil can beat a house divided...

Rover has been like this ever since his epic faceplant in 2016. It's like a kid who slips on a banana peel in front of his crush in 8th grade growing up to have a morbid fixation on fruit.

"I say yesterday we came out a lot better than he did...I think the show wears thin. I think the lack of accomplishment, the do-nothing presidency sinks in." - Sen. Schumer

I pray he's right this time.

tD will win if what the middle percieves as a left wing loonie is nominated.

I think tailhugger Joe is 4 years too late.

Aaah, yes. Cause the middle never seems to have a problem with a Right Wing Fascist. No problem at all.

****ing double standard.

Kindly post the link where you predicted Trump's victory in 2016. I'll wait...;)

That's going to be dictated by who wins the nomination. A Sanders/Warren/etc victory means we're going in a completely new direction from both the Chump Presidency and any Presidency before that, maybe even further than FDR's. If that's the case then no you don't run on a return to normalcy, you run on we're completely remaking the country in our image (New Deal, New Frontier, Great Society, etc).

If the winner is Biden/Booker/maybe O'Rourke then you do run on what you have above. Lets get back to a time of sanity while we drain the cesspool that the treasonous money laundering cult has left us, and then we push incrementally further left than the Obama beachhead.

Either way I'm voting Dem all the way. The opposition is Nazi's.

Due to how deeply unpopular Trump is you could maybe just eek out a narrow victory with "TRUMP BAD!" and nothing else (the Biden strategy). But given how close last election was and the fact that I want to win the long game (something the Republicans have undoubtedly done over the past 40 years and it's not even close) I'd like to see someone with more ambitious policy proposals to fix our unsustainable economy, healthcare system, and worsening climate. If you don't have any actual solutions for the latter, even if the D's win next election you're just gonna see a wave the other way in 4-8 years and it's unlikely that the Republicans are going to become less fascist in the future.

Your guys desperately froth at the mouth to convince the middle anything to the left of Pinochet is "loony." Sometimes you win but sometimes even the dullard undigestable mass in the center of this nation moves its eyes off the teevee just long enough to form the rational thought, "Hey... all these billionaire who promise me prosperity if I give them everything they want keep getting richer while I go even deeper into poverty. Maybe those "loony" lefties are actually on to ---zzzzzzzzzzzzaaaaapppppp-----" and at that instant the Fox News Harrison Bergeron buzzer goes off in their heads and 95% of them fall right back into a stupor. But a few of them stagger to the polls and actually try to help themselves and the country for once.

It's always a race between reason and stupidity. And yes, often stupidity wins. But not always. And maybe not this time.

This one aged well :D

joe's concern trolling is duly noted, but I will say it remains to be seen what the electorate wants to replace Chump with. It could want to go far left to make up for Trump's far right turn or it might look to snap back to the saner Obama years. That's sorta the position Pelosi's in right now with the different wings of her House caucus. The good news is that we have plenty of candidates running to sort that out.

Oh and trix, kindly post the link where you predicted Trump winning. I'll wait. ;)
