Might have to donate to Gravel’s campaign lol.

Maybe Joeb was making a case for reparations here

Trump will probably be a 2-term President.

Excuse me while I go scrub myself clean after making that horrifying statement. I really hope I'm just being a pessimist, but by this time in 2016 it was clear to me that Trump was going to be the next President. I think he's getting a second term.

Mookie chatting with folks from an embassy last night and was told their govt thinking is preparing for a 2nd term

Depends on if the Dems can sort out the 50 candidates that have declared. Solidify from the Bern Bros, and some fragments of the wannabes, and the people that don't wanna go full AOC style, Dems have it in the bag. Cut out the big steps, to make small steps. Easy victory. Win small, THEN go big. Don't try to get it all in one shot.

Re: 2020 Democrat Challengers Part II: There Can Be Only One

Thanks Hillary :D

She had the burden of the Clinton legacy, like it or not. Add to that, "she was one o'dem womenfolk" and there was another strike, like it or not. The third strike was that some people wanted to eff DC up, and she was considered part of DC, Trump wasn't, like it or not.

This crop of Dem candidates, for the most part, don't have all three strikes against them before they start running. A few have two of them, but not all three.

I will do what I can to help this happen, but I have no faith. I really did start thinking, about 6 months before the election, that Trump was going to win and win big. I suspect it will be close in 2020, but I don't know, man, I just think Trump wins reelection.

I am still gonna say the Dems will have MN in the bag, despite last election's numbers. Just going by history, here. ;)

I do like to hear that. Dems will get Colorado too, which to me is big, because when I first moved there in 1992, it was not a blue state. Of course, now that I'm in Alaska, well, Dems won't get Alaska, so there's 3 electoral votes to Trump. lol

From 1932 onward, the state has primarily voted Democratic, last voting Republican during Nixon’s landslide victory in 1972. In 1984, Minnesotans gave homegrown Senator Mondale his only state in the lopsided loss to Ronald Reagan. While the Democratic winning streak grew to 11 straight elections in 2016, Hillary Clinton only beat Donald Trump by 1.5%.

3 Rs since 1932, in presidential elections.

That might be fewer than my original home state of Illinois.

Edit: geez - Illinois is grosser than I thought. They've gone Republican in the Presidential 12 times out of 22. Between that and the ridiculous wind, why the heck does anyone still live there?

Dems have it in the bag

lol

If there's one thing we should have learned by now is that the percentage of deplorables is much higher than any of us thought. Id put Trumps chances for re-election > 50%

This. The tax return story should have had legs. It's already out of the News.

Re: 2020 Democrat Challengers Part II: There Can Be Only One

You guys whine waaaayyy too much. Here's a magic solution for you. Its crazy, but it just might work!

If everybody who disagrees with Trump votes for the Democratic candidate next year, he and his fellow cult members will lose control of the govt. A far out concept I realize, but at the end of the day people get what they deserve to represent them. Its not like all of the "both sides are equally bad" crowd wasn't warned in full ahead of time.

Yes, voter suppression will be a problem in places like Georgia but in PA, WI, MI, and I believe NC Dems now control all statewide elected offices so no shenanigans with mysterious voting machine breakdowns on election night and last minute ID requirement changes this time. Now go out and earn it. 5 Senate seats are ripe for the picking in swing states: AZ, CO, ME, NC, IA. Don't cry, take them back.

Why would it have legs? There was a story about him not paying taxes for a decade in part because he managed to crash and burn a casino and screw up real estate a few years ago. It's like the NYT wants to run it every year. I get it. He's **** with money. Catch him actually laundering the money if you want legs on a story.

If a Democrat had not paid taxes for ten years you'd never get it out of the news.

Unless the next recession begins within the next 12 months, I tend to believe you are correct.

Re: 2020 Democrat Challengers Part II: There Can Be Only One

Incumbents have a good history but there are a few reasons to be a little more positive.

1. No matter who we run it will be a step up.

2. Dump isn't picking up any votes.

3. God murders thousands of Fox viewers every day.

4. An insurgency always has more energy than defense of the status quo.
