I'm hoping the team keeps getting better and maybe some of these guys who were stifled development wise under Sneddon can add new skills because right now I have my expectations for the season very low.

I was curious about the recruiting to see if Woodcroft has brought in any new players and I found the Heisenberg list and it seems like a few more guys from Sneddon are no longer coming because they are crossed out. They would be: Jagger Benson, Logan Cash, Trevor Smith who is now an Army recruit, Brett Wieschorster and Kyle Mandleur. They still have Anthony Cipollone as coming and he's marked in red and I don't know what that means on his spreadsheet but I sort of feel like he won't be coming to campus since his brother no longer is here. I'm not surprised because I think the roster is going to be turned over by a lot in the next year or two.

One guy they have listed that I didn't see media coverage is a Finnish forward named Jesper Tarkiainen who has some nice numbers let's hope he's the first of many hidden gems found by Woodcroft using his connections overseas. He's also listed in red so again I don't know what that means. https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/428775/jesper-tarkiainen

Red bold means they've signed their NLI, iirc. Not really gonna lose sleep over those guys not coming, most of them appear to be pretty meh.

I should note - Cody Schiavon will be joining the team in the second semester. Was a Yale commit that we sniped after they cancelled their season.

That makes sense I wasn't sure...interesting nothing on Tarkiainen usually when they get a player it's reported seems like he could be pretty good too. With the crossed out guys yeah I am not going to lose sleep because knowing what we know from how Sneddon recruited they likely aren't too good. My feeling is there will be a few more of those crossed out down the line as well I was just trying to figure out how the roster might shape up after next year and there's no easy matrix or anything to do it. I know there's 10 seniors and my guess is maybe a couple other non seniors leave so it was all about attempting to see who is coming in for sure and when but that's pretty hard in hockey since guys arrival dates are always weird.

That is an impressive goal number for the Finnish Player. Also Mark Divver tweeted that they picked up a Transfer from Cornell for the second semester. He would have been their captain if he they had played the season.

Agreed that those recruits aren't much of a loss. Their junior numbers are bit painful to look at. Hopefully it works out for them wherever they end up.

Tough weekend but overall that was to be expected. Umass is really good and they've been playing games for a couple months now. Still excited to watch this team and see what kind of potential these younger players have. Was hoping the men's basketball team would be playing better but they isn't much fun to watch at the moment either.

You can navigate to it from there but there's a link to a new sheet for 2021 and beyond here which is where the most recent info is and where I saw Tarkianen listed for the first time https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...HhnjHEgVgDTLqtqB5APOKhu2k/edit#gid=1466169803

Just by the commitment date listed there are 9 who said they were coming under Sneddon and are not crossed out...I really don't see the other Cipollone coming and he's no longer listed as coming on his Elite Prospects page so conflicting information there. Totally possible none of them end up here but Kurrle probably does because he is local I think his mother is the Secretary of Commerce for the State of VT. Starting at Karter McNarland and up is where those who committed under Woodcroft are. If Woodcroft thinks they're good enough to come that's fine but he deserves the chance to make the team over how he wants and at the same time those players should go where they'll play and be happy too.

I really hope Kurrle ends up at UVM. As someone who grew up in VT, I like it when the local kids end up at the Gut. Hopefully a few more prospects come out of the state in next few years. It's correct that Kurrle's mother is Secretary of Commerce. I've noticed on the team's twitter she likes pretty much everything the team posts. Seems like a good sign.

UVM now has a recruit at the IIHF World Juniors! Luca Münzenberger of Germany committed today. Defender who captains the Kölner Haie U20s - furthering Woodcroft's desire to get leadership types.

anyone know the deal on this Mullin kid, who moved over from Cornell? looks like he was going to be one of the Big Red's captain's prior to season cancellation.

thanks for putting up the link to Heisenberg, amazed that one of Sneddon's lost recruits is Canada's starter for the WJC.

happy holidays to everyone and hope that a new year brings some new feelings for the program.

He pretty much immediately becomes one of our best forward, 20+ points is not quite slice bread, but with him coming from a top 5 team, it's definitely a nice jolt. Woodcroft values leadership types (they were talking about it some on the broadcast of the UMass games - and I think it's smart to do when you're in a culture reset) so he brings that good intangible stuff too.

Schiavon, who's also joining, was a Yale commit. From what I've heard, could be a top pairing guy with the right seasoning.

What happened to Phip Waugh? I'm familiar with him from NE prep. His twitter says he's #19, but he's not on UVM's website roster. Did he go back to juniors, and Schiavon is coming in at semester break to take his place?

I've heard nothing, but good observation, I see it too. No idea.

EDIT - He wasn't in the BFP article which went through all the newcomers either, but WAS in the UVM article when the incoming class was announced. That's weird.

FWIW - Schiavon was supposed to come in next year but enrolled early because the BCHL (where he was playing) cancelled their season.

PK is on the struggle bus right now. We knew it'd be a rough season. These things take time.

Carriere looked good. I need to see a full game before I make the call 100%, but he should probably be starting. I like Hutchison's game as well.

Thank you Ivy League for giving us Mullin. Another tough game but they looked better than last week. I feel badly for Harmon but Carriere looked good. We won the second half of the game. I thought they hustled to the puck more than last week but they still need to get to the pick first. Hopefully tomorrow than can show more improvement.
