USCHO Division I Women's Poll - February 24, 2020
Rnk Team (Last Poll)
1 Cornell (1)
2 Wisconsin (2)
3 Minnesota (3)
4 Northeastern (3)
5 Ohio State (5)
6 Princeton (6)
7 Clarkson (7)
8 Boston University (8)
9 Minnesota Duluth (9)
10 Quinnipiac (10)
Others receiving votes: Harvard 4, Providence 2

This week's poll shows only one change in the pecking order compared to the week before: Minnesota edges into an "all alone" position at No. 3 over Northeastern, by a scant two votes (this is somewhat surprising given that each team rather easily swept their opponent, Minnesota State and Merrimack respectively). So as the teams conclude their regular seasons and head into their league playoffs the poll is as stable as can be.

One possible, and likely incorrect, explanation would be that Minnesota finished its season series against MSU with a 5-0 record, and the closest result was Saturday's 3-0 win. Conversely Wisconsin (3-1 w/ a one-goal victory), Ohio State (2-0-2), and UMD (3-0-2 w/ two one-goal victories) all had more difficulty with the Mavericks. Merrimack, OTOH, was swept by a several teams, including Holy Cross (and coincidentally, MSU).

But yeah, somebody probably just forgot how he/she voted last week.

Re: 2019 - 20 Rankings

Cornell gets all fifteen first place votes, and Ohio State gets all fifteen fifth place votes.

Wisconsin - fourteen 2nd place votes, and one 3rd.
Minnesota - one 2nd, eleven 3rd and three 4th.
Northeastern - three 3rd and twelve 4th.

----------------

Wisconsin - (14 x 9) + (1 x 8) = 134
Minnesota - (1 x 9) + (11 x 8) + (3 x 7) = 118
Northeastern - (0 x 9) + (3 x 8) + (12 x 7) = 108

USCHO Division I Women's Poll - March 2, 2010
Rnk Team (Last Poll)
1 Cornell (1)
2 Wisconsin (2)
3 Minnesota (3)
4 Northeastern (3)
5 Ohio State (5)
6 Princeton (6)
7 Clarkson (7)
8 Minnesota Duluth (9)
9 Boston University (8)
10 Harvard (NR)
10 Quinnipiac (10)
Others receiving votes: Mercyhurst (1)

Each of the Top 7 holds their position this week, while Minnesota Duluth exchanges the Nos. 8/9 positions with BU. And Harvard finally cracks the Top 10 - at No. 10 in a tie with Quinnipiac.
It should also be noted that this week Mercyhurst is the only CHA team to receive any love from the voters - and just a single vote at that. Is the CHA really that week, or are the top teams in the other three conferences that much stronger?

I remember UM having its hands full versus RMU this season. On any given day...
