2018 Midterms 2: I Need A Drink!

Re: 2018 Midterms 2: I Need A Drink!

The GOP needs to take lessons from the Pelosi Mob on how to control the family.

As God is my witness, the GOP would screw up running a numbers racket.

Pelosi is the balancing act for watching McConnell roll an inept Schumer as he bargains against himself, first with Judicial appointments last month and now over money for a wall that 60 million Democrats don't want.

Re: 2018 Midterms 2: I Need A Drink!

He might want one of those Senate seats to open up sooner rather than later. ;) Having said that, he just got taught a lesson in bare knuckle politics that I hope he learns from.

Lastly, with Dems now picking up a net of 40 seats in the House, who was that brilliant, good looking and humble poster who predicted that very thing? Hint, it wasn't Scooby, who also predicted a 40 seat pickup, but just got the party that would be winning all of those seats wrong. :D

so that house will now pass all the bills hilly wants (since you guaranteed her win :p)

Re: 2018 Midterms 2: I Need A Drink!

The problem is outside of the few people who won running away from her the truth is her strategy worked. Health Care being an issue was her deal according to stuff I read right before election day. She may be older than dirt but she seems to know what the voters want...agreed though someone in leadership needs to be young and the heir apparent.

The Anti-Pelosi crowd has nothing. They have no message outside of "we want something new" and they cant even decide who they support or why. They sound like a campus political party shouting lots of random things but no coherent message, no leadership and no solutions. They arent ready for prime time yet which is why they wont win.

the strategy was "against tD". still, nobody has a hc plan for everyone. if it isn't universal, and cheap, and let's one do what they want..... it has zero chance.

Re: 2018 Midterms 2: I Need A Drink!

Interesting from the post Mortem that McSally did on her failed attempt. Not great news for dump and 2020.

““A significant segment of the AZ GOP was hostile to the President,” it says. “In internal polling during the primary, President Trump never broke 80% favorability among Republican voters. A certain segment of AZ Republicans was outright hostile to President Trump, and was against the Kavanaugh appointment. This segment of moderate Republicans, especially woman [sic], proved very difficult to bring home to a Republican candidate that supported President Trump and the confirmation of Justice Kavanaugh.”

Disagree on that. Dems went out of their way to avoid promising to have Chump burned at the stake and focused primarily on the very real attempts of the KKK, I mean GOP, to take away their health care coverage. In fact some people on the left were pressing for Pelosi to take a firmer stand on impeachment. Astoundingly the party stayed on message and crushed most suburban Republicans in swing seats. Hell, Dems didn't win a seat in Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Kansas on an anti-Chump message.

Re: 2018 Midterms 2: I Need A Drink!

NC-9 is weird. The board of elections unanimously has refused to certify the results which has the Republican up 905 votes for with no reason given so far. They'll meet again Friday to discuss it

Wouldn't be surprised if there is a significant amount of support for McCain and Flake...who Trump has consistently belittled.

Being against doesn’t mean going all nutty and impeaching for no reason :)

Surprising how many morons cry impeach, but forget the senate has to convict :p

No wonder the results were never certified that is out and out fraud! Just a coincidence it was the GOP I am sure since we know only Black and Latino Dems vote illegally.

edit: Lots of people on the thread tweeting about other frauds they have personally seen involving older people...

Beliebe the only two votes against investigating were from two Rs also.

Funny how voter fraud points to that side.

Republicans are petulant little children, throwing tantrums when things don't go their way. What trump is going to do when he loses in 2020 is going to be interesting. At least until it leads to an armed insurrection anyway, because I am convinced that if he is still alive in January of 2021 he is not going to give up the presidency peacefully. He is the ultimate petulant little child, but instead of just laying down on the grocery store floor, screaming and thrashing about, he has a military at his disposal.

Re: 2018 Midterms 2: I Need A Drink!

If I'm Evers, I make clear that that would be one of the biggest mistakes in the history of Wisconsin politics making it clear that it will be difficult to pass anything. And if they pass it, I'd 1) veto every single bill the GOP tried to pass 2) make my term a one man publicity tour of explain in simple terms the criminality of the Republican party. If they change the concept of the governor, he should also. At some point, you have nothing to lose.

I'm not all that worried about it. I could see him refusing to attend the new POTUS' inauguration, and not going through with the public WH key hand-off. One way or another though, he will leave power.
