2018 Canada's Olympic Women's Hockey Team

Nice of them to include the best player in the country this time

I would have been really shocked if they had omitted her especially after they lost the only Gold medal that anyone cares about.....Olympic gold! Natural scorers are a great gift for any team! Everyone knows you can't coach someone into becoming a natural scorer. See any comment about the weakest skill in women's hockey.

Surprised that Loren Gabel was not invited.

And with Sauve as one of the Goalie candidates talk about awkward.

Gabel is referenced in 2 places on the above post, maybe she is there?

As for awkward with Sauve and Muzerall, hopefully not. Reflecting on the comments made by many in the transfer thread, I was reminded that the health and happiness of the players is way more important than anything else. Sauve and Muzerall did great things last year, hopefully again now for Team Canada.

Re: 2018 Canada's Olympic Women's Hockey Team

The team canada national development team is off to a rough (terrible) start yet again. Losing all their matches against the U-Sports roster, which is of a much lesser level comprised of people who will never make the team canada program.

It is so disturbing and sad to witness how far behind this program has fallen in the last 10 years. Thanks Mel:(

And Sauve was passed over for the USA series of games. HMMMMMMMMM

Apparently Sauve and Howard are not U22 so maybe can’t play in the U22 series? But maybe not done with Hockey Canada? (According to @kmtwhelan via Twitter). Hockey Canada should explain how their stuff works. Define who’s eligible, clarify if there are people attending a camp that aren’t even eligible to make a roster. Yeesh.

Howard was by far the best forward on the U22 teams. She scored most of the goals. The fact that CIS teams beat the U22 teams show there is a wide discrepancy between players picked and players who should be there. Coaching might also be a factor. CIS had much better coaches.

So true. How D1 hockey players cannot beat even lower than D-3 level CIS teams is just a product of how far behind this program is; in coaching, player selection, management, everything. This program has totally fallen through the seams in the last 10 years and regressed to what we see now.
