My guess is they're very rational, putting much logical contemplation into their decision. Some, even fulfilling a dream.

Holy crap...The Gophers have 13 U18 recruits from the US and Canada coming in the next three years with Oden's commitment. All ten recruits for 2017 and 2018 are U18 players
That is some crazy roster stashing stuff right there.
Hopefully I'll be around to see if these players spend their college career on the bench or watching from the stands. I'm unconvinced your saying so makes it a foregone conclusion though.
I think it's extremely magnanimous of the Gopher staff in an effort to provide Hockeysbest with quality posting material.Boom...Now 14 U18 recruits from the USA and Canada coming in the next three years and all 11 recruits for 2017 and 2018 are U18 players! I guess the odds were good they were going to get at least one of the remaining three uncommitted players since they were all from Minnesota.

So we have Minny on the mens side of hockey leading the charge on the “age limit” proposal, which would prevent schools from taking 21-year-old freshmen and guaranteeing them four years of NCAA eligibility. The vast majority of coaches — a recent straw poll showed it at 49 against and only 11 for — think it's a bad proposal advanced by the Big Ten, and spearheaded by Lucia's Minnesota, because of the competitive disadvantage they now feel for themselves.
